We join you in lifting up your financial needs before the Lord, trusting in His promise to provide for His children. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our Heavenly Father delights in blessing those who seek Him.
The matter of borrowing and lending is addressed in Scripture, and we are called to walk in wisdom and integrity. Psalm 37:21 says, *"The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* While we do not know the circumstances surrounding what was borrowed, we encourage you to examine this situation prayerfully. If there is any outstanding debt, seek the Lord’s guidance on how to fulfill your obligations in a way that honors Him. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* We pray that God would open doors for you to settle any debts rightfully and that He would provide the means to do so without burden or shame. If this was a loan given to someone else that was not repaid, we pray for God’s justice and restoration, that what was taken would be returned to you in full, and that hearts would be convicted to do what is right.
At the same time, we must also examine our own hearts. Are we trusting in the Lord’s provision, or are we leaning on our own understanding? Matthew 6:31-33 encourages us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Let us seek His Kingdom first, trusting that He will provide for every need as we walk in obedience and faith.
We also encourage you to steward well what the Lord has already given you. Luke 16:10 reminds us, *"He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much."* If there are areas where you can be more diligent, wise, or generous with your finances, ask the Lord to reveal them to you. He may also be calling you to a season of simplicity or sacrifice, trusting Him to multiply what little you have, just as He did with the widow’s oil in 2 Kings 4.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and their family. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we thank You that You own the cattle on a thousand hills. You know every need before it is even spoken, and we trust You to meet each one according to Your riches in glory.
Father, we ask for Your miraculous provision this year. Open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that they will not have room enough to receive. Provide opportunities for increase, wisdom in stewardship, and favor in every financial endeavor. Let there be no lack, no shame, and no fear, but only the peace that comes from knowing You are their Source.
Lord, we also bring before You the matter of what has been borrowed. If our brother/sister owes a debt, give them the means and the wisdom to repay it honorably. If they are owed, we ask for Your justice and restoration. Convict the hearts of those who need to make things right, and let there be no delay in what is due. Let this be a testimony of Your faithfulness and righteousness.
We rebuke any spirit of poverty, lack, or fear that may be trying to take hold. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. You, Lord, are their defense and their glory. Lift the burden of worry from their shoulders and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we also ask that You would align their desires with Your will. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them. Give them a heart of generosity, even in times of need, so that they may be a blessing to others as You have blessed them.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are not a man that You should lie, and every promise You have made will come to pass. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You. Let them see Your hand move mightily in their finances, and may this season be one of breakthrough and testimony.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing on God’s Word. Meditate on His promises daily, and let your requests be made known to Him with thanksgiving. Keep a heart of gratitude, even in the waiting, for He is working all things together for your good. If there are specific areas where you feel led to make changes—whether in spending, saving, giving, or seeking counsel—be obedient to the Holy Spirit’s leading. He will guide you into all truth.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He turn His face toward you and give you peace. Stand firm in faith, for you are not forgotten. Your breakthrough is coming!
