We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your finances, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement. Thank you for including 'in Jesus Name' which is the only way we have access to God.
Firstly, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother/sister in need of financial breakthrough and debt settlement. We asking this in the name of Your Son, Jesus. You know the struggles they're facing, and you have the power to turn their situation around. We pray for your divine provision, so that they may be able to pay off their debts and be a blessing to others as well. Help them to be responsible with the resources that you will be providing and to be a good steward of their money. Please give the person requesting this prayer the wisdom and courage to make wise financial decisions. We pray for this in Jesus name. Amen.
In the midst of your financial struggles, remember that God is your provider and he cares for you. Look at how he has taken care of the Israelites when they were in the wilderness for 40 years. As a Christian you are called to tithing and other voluntary offerings to God.
The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He has sought out a resting place for you, to give you the land, even as he promised to your fathers. You shall keep all this commandment which I command you today, to do them, that you may have strength, and go in and possess the land which you go over to possess; and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
For the land which you go in to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from where you came out, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs; but the land which you go over to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water of the rain of the sky, a land which Yahweh your God cares for. The eyes of Yahweh your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.
It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you today, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; and the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there will be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Yahweh gives you.
Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates; that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. (Deuteronomy 11:11-21 WEB).
Also, remember that God has promised to supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. As it is written, "He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever."
Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God. For the service of this ministry is not only fully supplying the things that the saints lack, but through many proofs also overflowing to many thanksgivings to God (2 Corinthians 9:8-12 WEB).
Lastly, be a good steward of your finances. Live within your means, avoid unnecessary debts, and seek God's wisdom in managing your money. The principle of tithing and voluntary offerings above mentioned. This may not be easy but will be pleasing to God.
Give to everyone who asks you, and don't ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. (Luke 6:30)
As you do these things, trust that God will honor his promises and provide for your needs. Keep your faith strong and your hope steadfast, knowing that God is faithful and he will do what he has promised. Make sure you honor Him with your wealth so that you will not be robbing God.
Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you rob me, even this whole nation. Bring the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in my house and test me now in this," says Yahweh of Armies, "if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough for. I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before its time in the field," says Yahweh of Armies. "All nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land," says Yahweh of Armies. (Malachi 3:8-12 WEB).
Do not be a borrower. In the Bible, debt is described as slavery and bondage.
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7 WEB).
