Beloved of All
Hello, I mentioned that I MAY have to file bankruptcy to clear my rent debt. I feel like this option is not reusing God and the option will set me back for many years to come. This is a really last resort. I don’t have any credit card debt only rent arrears. I don’t have time to waste and deadlines are drawing near. I understand that God has his timing but the reality is that I want to clear the debt NOW. I don’t like owing people. The debt wasn’t incurred haphazardly but due to unjust loss of income. I think the issue is that I am confused as to what to do next. I have “shopped around” for financial advisors, searched for jobs, asked for help but the doors remain shut. Today I will continue the search but sometimes I feel discouraged. Father in Jesus name I need help in locating the right people to guide me through the bankruptcy process if I have to go through it. Otherwise can you please lead me to honest people who can walk me through to financial freedom. I’m not lazy just extremely exhausted from trying every option that I know of to make things right. Please give me discernment. Also I’d like to get off of government assistance soon and be able to pay my way. I’m searching for opportunities to generate honorable income. Where is the income please?

We hear your cry for help and the heavy burden you carry, both financially and emotionally. The weight of debt and the pressure of deadlines can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve done everything in your power to seek solutions. You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in seeking God’s wisdom and provision.

First, let us affirm that your desire to honor your obligations and avoid bankruptcy is commendable. Scripture tells us in Romans 13:8, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Your heart to clear this debt aligns with God’s heart for integrity and responsibility. However, we also recognize that circumstances beyond your control have led you here, and God sees your efforts and your exhaustion.

The frustration of closed doors is real, but we encourage you not to lose heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even when the path forward seems unclear, God is at work. Your persistence in seeking jobs, advisors, and help is not in vain—it is evidence of your faithfulness, and God honors that.

Regarding bankruptcy, it is not inherently sinful, but it should be a last resort after all other avenues have been exhausted. If this is the path you must take, we pray for godly counsel to guide you through it. Psalm 32:8 says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you." Ask God to lead you to honest, wise advisors who can help you navigate this process with integrity.

We also want to address your desire to move away from government assistance. This is a noble goal, rooted in a desire for self-sufficiency and dignity. Proverbs 12:11 says, "He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding." Keep seeking honorable work, and trust that God will open doors for income in His timing. He is your provider, as Philippians 4:19 declares: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their financial struggles and the weight of debt they carry. Lord, You see their heart—their desire to honor You, to clear their obligations, and to walk in integrity. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them, whether through employment, wise counsel, or unexpected provision. Give them discernment to recognize the right path forward, whether it be through repayment, negotiation, or, if necessary, bankruptcy. Protect them from discouragement and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You.

Father, we pray for income to flow into their life—honorable work that will allow them to stand on their own and glorify You. Remove any barriers that have kept these doors closed, and let Your favor go before them. We also ask that You would lead them to trustworthy advisors who can guide them with wisdom and integrity. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their provider. In every step, may they lean on You and find rest in Your promises.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm them. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill them with hope and perseverance as they continue to seek You. May they experience Your provision in ways that astound them and draw them closer to You.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek God’s face in this season. He is not unaware of your needs, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep pressing forward, and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way. You are not forgotten, and your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We're here with you, friend, feeling the weight of your financial burden and the confusion about what to do next. We understand the frustration of closed doors and the exhaustion that comes from trying every option. It's like you're in a thick fog, unsure of which path to take.

Let's remember together that God sees you, He knows your heart, and He cares about your situation. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We believe that God wants to do that for you too, both in your heart and in your financial situation.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep asking (Matthew 7:7). Sometimes, it feels like we're banging our heads against a brick wall, but remember, God is in the business of opening doors that no one else can open (John 10:9).

Let's also pray for discernment together. We ask God to give you clarity on the next step. If bankruptcy is the path you need to take, we pray that God would lead you to wise and trustworthy counselors who can guide you through it with integrity.

And friend, please don't feel guilty about needing help. We all need it at some point. God wants us to rely on Him, and sometimes that means relying on others too. As it says in Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Let's trust that God will provide a way out, just as He always does. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working things out for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep holding on, and let's believe together for a breakthrough.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this challenging time. It’s clear how deeply you’ve sought the Lord’s guidance, and how weary your heart has become as you’ve exhausted every option you know. We’ve been lifting you up, asking God to make a way where there seems to be no way, and to open doors that no one can shut. We’ve prayed specifically for discernment, that you would recognize the right people to guide you, whether toward financial freedom or through the bankruptcy process if that becomes necessary.

We’ve also asked the Lord to strengthen you when discouragement weighs heavy, reminding you that He sees your efforts and your desire to honor Him with integrity. We’ve been interceding for provision—honorable income that would allow you to step away from government assistance and stand on your own feet again. We believe God hears these prayers, and we’re trusting Him to move in ways that only He can.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—whether through a breakthrough, a new opportunity, or a clear path forward—we would love to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together. If the weight of this situation still feels heavy and the answers haven’t come yet, we encourage you to post this request again. We’re committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own.

May He fill you with peace as you wait, wisdom as you seek His will, and hope as you press forward. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.

I’m going to have to file for Chapter 7 as I cannot pay any bills. I had prayed that it wouldn’t come to this but whether I do it or not I’ll still have financial debt and my credit will be damaged. I’ve exhausted all options and I’m frankly tired.
