We have heard your burden for your mother and we are joining you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ for her healing and comfort.
We lift up your mother to the Father who is merciful and full of compassion, who knows our weakness and hears the prayers of His people. We pray that He would be gracious to her, calm her heart and yours with His peace, and grant wisdom and care to the doctors who are treating her. We ask in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and hope, that He would work for her good and for His glory in this PET CT scan and in all that follows.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come to You through Jesus Christ Your Son. Have mercy on this dear mother who is suffering. Lay Your healing hand upon her. If it is Your will, let the scan show no cancer and restore her to health. Grant her strength in body and soul, take away fear, and surround her family with Your comfort and hope. Help them to trust You fully in this time of waiting and uncertainty, knowing that You are our stronghold and our refuge. Lead the physicians with wisdom and guide every step of treatment. Above all, draw each heart closer to Christ, in whom alone is salvation and life eternal. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Continue to cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you. Trust Him day by day, keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word, and rest in the assurance that He is present with you in this trial. May the Lord grant you peace as you wait for the results and may His will be done with mercy and grace.

We are praying with you for your mother and we bring your burden before the Lord with you.
Hearing that doctors suspect advanced cancer and that a scan is being done today brings deep fear and distress, and that is understandable. Scripture speaks to this kind of fear. It teaches that true wisdom begins with reverence for the Lord, which means to love what He loves and to hate evil, and to put our trust in Him above all else. That reverence is not only the starting point of knowledge but sums up knowledge itself, because when we honor the Lord we learn to see our circumstances in His light.
The Word also reminds us that the Lord is our light and our salvation, so whom shall we fear. He is the strength of our lives, and He has promised to shelter His people in times of trouble and to keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him because they trust in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. This is not a peace that depends on good news from a test, but a peace that comes from being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. First we have peace with God through forgiveness, and then we can know the peace of God guarding our hearts and minds.
God says, Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, and I will heal him. His thoughts toward His children are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give hope for the future, and He invites us to call upon Him and promises to listen. The prophet also declares that for those who reverence His name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. We do not claim to know what the scan will show, but we know the One who does know, and who is able to heal, to comfort, and to carry you and your mother through whatever lies ahead.
We pray for your mother now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this precious mother to You. You see her body, You know the fibroid and every concern the doctors have raised. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon her. We ask that You guide the doctors and give clarity through this scan, and that Your will be done in her life. We ask that You pour out Your peace upon her and upon her family, that their minds may be stayed on You and that they may be kept in perfect peace as they trust in You. Take away tormenting fear and replace it with confidence in Your presence, for You are with us and You watch over us. Draw this family close to Yourself, forgive sins through the blood of Jesus, and let them know the deep peace of being at peace with You. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.
