Feeling, lost, depressed, hurt and neglected

I am going through a lot at the moment. I know and believe in God the Almighty, my creator, my everything. My daughter of ### years old is pregnant and this led to my feelings of depression. Then I have a male companion that makes empty promises and I really fell in love with him. What he says and what he does is two different things. I also lost my job. I have a gambling problem and I know that it will not solve my situation. Please pray for me. I am a believer. Amen.

We lift you up before the Lord, dear sister, for we see the weight of many burdens pressing upon your heart—depression, betrayal, financial loss, and the pain of a daughter’s unexpected pregnancy. Yet even in this storm, you have confessed your faith in God Almighty, and that is where your hope must anchor. Let us speak truth into these struggles, for the Lord does not leave His children without direction or comfort.

First, we rejoice that you are a believer, but we must ask: Do you call upon the name of Jesus in your prayers? It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered every area of your life to Christ, now is the time. Repentance and faith in Him alone bring true peace—not in circumstances, but in the soul. If you have already trusted in Jesus, then cling to Him now more than ever, for He is your Shepherd who restores (Psalm 23:3).

Your daughter’s pregnancy is undoubtedly painful, but we urge you to remember that every life is a gift from God (Psalm 139:13-16). While this may not have been your plan, the Lord can redeem even this. Pray for her, that she would seek God’s wisdom and turn to Him in repentance if needed. Offer her love, not condemnation, for we are all sinners saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Point her to Christ, who forgives and restores. And trust that God can use this situation for good (Romans 8:28).

Now, sister, we must address your relationship with this man. The term "companion" is vague, but if this is not a godly, covenant marriage, then it is not pleasing to the Lord. Scripture is clear: marriage is between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this man is not your husband, then you are in a relationship that dishonors God, and that is why you feel such pain—because sin always brings brokenness. His empty promises are a sign of his unfaithfulness, and your love for him must be surrendered to Christ. Flee from this relationship, for it is leading you away from God’s best. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he is a believer, then his actions should reflect Christ; if not, you must let him go. Seek a godly spouse, not a man who deceives you. The Lord has better for you if you will trust Him.

Your job loss is a trial, but it is also an opportunity to seek God’s provision. He promises to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:19), but we must trust Him rather than turn to sin for comfort. Your gambling is a destructive idol that will only deepen your despair. It is stealing from your future and dishonoring God, who calls us to steward our resources wisely (1 Timothy 6:10, Proverbs 13:11). Repent of this sin and ask the Lord to break its hold on you. Replace it with prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with believers who can hold you accountable.

Depression is real, but it is not your master. Cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Do not isolate yourself—reach out to your church, to mature believers who can walk with you. Fill your mind with truth: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, broken yet beloved. Lord, she is overwhelmed by sorrow, but You are her Comforter. We ask that You would draw her closer to Yourself, that she would find her identity and peace in Christ alone. Forgive her for any sin—whether in relationships, gambling, or unbelief—and cleanse her heart. Break the chains of addiction and deliver her from the lies of the enemy. Give her wisdom to navigate her daughter’s pregnancy, that both may turn to You for strength. Father, provide for her needs, open doors for godly work, and surround her with Your people. If this man in her life is not Your will, sever the tie and heal her heart. Raise up a godly husband for her if it is Your plan, but let her find her satisfaction in You first. Fill her with Your joy, which is her strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Let her testimony be one of redemption, not regret. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Hope. Amen.

Sister, you are not forgotten. The Lord sees you, and He is working even now. Turn from sin, cling to Christ, and watch Him restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). We are praying for you.

We're here with you, sister. We see the weight of your burdens, but we also see your faith in God Almighty, and that's where your hope must rest. We're going to pray for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone.

First, let's cling to Jesus together. He's our rock, our refuge, and our strength. He loves you deeply, and He wants to carry your burdens with you. Let's ask Him to fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Now, let's lift up your daughter. She's going through a lot, but God sees her, and He loves her even more than you do. Let's ask God to give her wisdom, to guide her, and to draw her close to Him. And let's ask Him to give you the strength to love her well, with grace and understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Next, let's bring your relationship with that man before the Lord. We know it's hard, but we trust that God has a plan, and He wants what's best for you. Let's ask Him to guide your steps, to protect your heart, and to lead you to a place of healing and wholeness. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Your job loss is a trial, but it's also an opportunity. Let's ask God to open new doors, to provide for your needs, and to help you trust Him more deeply. And let's ask Him to break the chains of gambling that are holding you back. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lastly, let's ask God to fill you with joy, to heal your broken heart, and to give you the strength to keep going. Remember, He's always with you, and He's working even now. In Jesus' name, we pray.

We're praying for you, sister. You're not forgotten, and you're not alone. Keep trusting in Jesus, and watch Him work in your life.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
