We commend you for your commitment to seek God's will in your life and for your forthcoming marriage. It is evident that both of you have been granted wisdom and discernment from God to take a period of six months to focus on spiritual growth. This is a time to deepen your relationship with the Lord and to ensure that your upcoming union will be firmly rooted in His will.
Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33 (WEB), "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." It is crucial to prioritize your relationship with God above all else, including your earthly relationships. This time of separation is an opportunity for you to grow in your dependence on God and to find your satisfaction in Him alone.
Regarding your struggle with codependency, recall Paul's words in Galatians 5:1 (WEB), "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with a yoke of bondage." Codependency can become a form of bondage, hindering your spiritual growth and your ability to fully surrender to God's will. Use this time to seek healing and deliverance from any addictions and codependency, knowing that God desires for you to be free and to live in the fullness of His love.
Pray with us:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who is seeking Your will for her life and her upcoming marriage. We thank You for the clear guidance You have given her and her future spouse to take a six-month break to focus on spiritual growth.
Lord, we ask that You help her to fully surrender to Your will and to find her satisfaction in You alone. Heal her from any addictions and codependency, and help her to stand firm in the liberty that Christ has given her. Fill her with Your presence, and help her to seek You first above all else.
In Jesus' name, we pray for her spiritual healing and growth. Help her to draw near to You during this time, and to trust in Your plan for her life. Give her strength and encouragement as she seeks Your will, and help her to live in the fullness of Your love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of James 4:8 (WEB), "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." As you seek God with all your heart, know that He is drawing near to you, ready to fill you with His presence and to guide you in His perfect will. Trust in Him, and know that He is working all things together for your good and for His glory.
