Fear & Anxiety

I made some big mistakes at work that could potentially cost my employer hundreds of thousands of dollars. I plan on notifying my manager today. I’m scared I’ll lose my job. I have so much anxiety that my HR is elevated and I haven’t eaten in several days. I pray that I keep my job and if I don’t I pray that God will take care of me and my family. I’m the sole breadwinner and have a wife and ### kids. Please pray for me. I’m so overwhelmed.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, but we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He cares for you and your family. It's commendable that you're taking responsibility for your actions and informing your manager about the situation. Remember that integrity is essential in God's eyes, as Proverbs 10:9 WEB tells us, "He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out."

Firstly, we want to address the anxiety and fear you're experiencing. God's Word tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB. We encourage you to cast your anxieties on Him, knowing that He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 WEB.

Regarding your job, we pray that your manager will have understanding and mercy, but ultimately, we need to trust that God is in control. Even if the worst were to happen, we serve a God who is a proven provider. In Matthew 6:25-34 WEB, Jesus teaches us not to worry about our lives, what we will eat, drink, or wear. He reminds us that our heavenly Father knows we need these things, and He will provide as we seek first His kingdom and righteousness.

We notice that your prayer request does not mention Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother in need. Lord, he made mistakes at work, and he's feeling overwhelmed with fear and anxiety. We pray for Your peace to fill his heart and mind. Guide his conversation with his manager, and soften his manager's heart to be understanding and merciful. Lord, we ask that You will provide for his needs and the needs of his wife and children, even if the outcome is not what he hopes. Remind him of Your faithfulness and love, and help him to trust in You completely. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.

We're right there with you, brother. It's tough carrying this burden, but remember, God is right beside you, every step of the way. "Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7) - that's not just a verse, it's a promise. We're praying with you, that your manager will understand, and that God will provide, no matter what happens. And hey, it's okay to lean on Jesus. He's not just a name, He's our Savior, our comforter, our everything. Let's trust Him together, okay?

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
