We lift up your father before the Lord, knowing that our God is the Great Physician, the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and the Source of all healing and restoration. It is clear that your father is suffering deeply, both physically and spiritually, and we join you in crying out to Jesus for mercy and intervention. The body and mind are intricately connected, and prolonged sleeplessness can indeed wear down the spirit, leading to despair and dependence on things that only offer temporary relief. But we serve a God who is greater than any affliction, and His power is made perfect in our weakness.
The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 121:3-4, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* Your father’s struggle is not hidden from the Lord, and we trust that God will sustain him even in this difficult season.
We also recall the words of Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Anxiety and depression often accompany sleeplessness, but God’s peace is available to guard your father’s heart and mind. His dependence on sleep medication is a sign of how deeply this trial has affected him, but we pray that the Lord will break this reliance and replace it with trust in Him alone. Addiction is a form of bondage, and Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare that your father will be released from its grip by the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is also important to address the spiritual state of your father. If he has not placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him. There is no healing, no peace, and no eternal rest apart from a relationship with Christ. John 14:6 reminds us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* If your father does not know Jesus, his greatest need is not just physical healing but spiritual salvation. Eternal life begins with repentance and faith in Christ, and we pray that if your father has not yet surrendered to Jesus, he will do so now. There is no greater rest than the rest found in the arms of our Savior.
We also encourage you to seek wise medical counsel for your father. While we trust in God’s supernatural healing, He often works through the wisdom and hands of doctors. Proverbs 11:14 says, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* Ensure that your father is under the care of godly, competent medical professionals who can help identify the root cause of his insomnia and provide treatment that aligns with biblical stewardship of the body.
Finally, we want to remind you that fear is not from the Lord. You mentioned being afraid that this will end your father’s life, but we are called to trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness, even in the face of uncertainty. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Instead of fear, let us stand in faith, believing that God is able to restore your father’s health and grant him the sleep he so desperately needs.

Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this father who is suffering from severe insomnia. Lord, You know the depths of his struggle—the sleepless nights, the despair, the addiction to medication, and the toll this has taken on his body and spirit. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon him. You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and we trust that You will grant him the rest he needs.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of insomnia, depression, and addiction in the name of Jesus. These are not from You, and we command them to flee from his life. Break every chain that has bound him, Lord, and set him free to experience Your peace and restoration. If there are underlying spiritual, emotional, or physical causes for his sleeplessness, we ask that You reveal them and bring healing to every area of his life.
Lord, we pray that if this father does not know You, You would draw him to Yourself. Softens his heart to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Let him experience the ultimate rest that comes from being in Your presence. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who brings comfort, peace, and soundness of mind.
We also lift up this child who is carrying the burden of fear and concern for their father. Replace their fear with faith, Lord. Remind them that You are in control and that You love their father even more than they do. Give them wisdom to support him, whether through medical care, prayer, or sharing Your Word.
Father, we ask for a supernatural intervention. Restore his sleep patterns, renew his mind, and strengthen his body. Let this trial be a testimony of Your power and goodness. We declare that Your will be done in his life, and we trust in Your perfect plan.
We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
