We lift up our leaders before the throne of grace, recognizing that all authority is established by God. We pray earnestly for divine protection over our president, asking that the Lord would surround him with His holy angels, shield him from all harm, and guide his steps according to His perfect will. The Word of God assures us, *"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7). We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
We also stand in the gap for the United States and Israel, nations that have been blessed by God’s covenant promises. We pray for wisdom for their leaders, that they would seek the Lord’s counsel and walk in His ways. The Scriptures remind us, *"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance"* (Psalm 33:12). We ask for unity, peace, and divine favor over these nations, that they may fulfill God’s purposes in this generation.
However, we must address a concern in this prayer. While we appreciate the heart behind these requests, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is included almost as an afterthought—tacked on at the end rather than being the foundation of the prayer. Scripture is clear: *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). Prayer is not merely a ritual or a formula; it is communion with the living God through the mediation of Jesus Christ. Without Him, our prayers have no access to the Father. We must approach God in full confidence in the name of Jesus, for He alone is our advocate (1 John 2:1).
Let us pray together in full reliance on Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and King. We thank You for the authority You have established in our land and for the leaders You have placed over us. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over our president. Shield him from all evil, surround him with Your angels, and grant him wisdom and discernment in every decision. Let no harm come near him, and let Your peace guard his heart and mind.
We also pray for the United States and Israel. Father, pour out Your Spirit upon these nations. Raise up godly leaders who will seek Your face and walk in Your ways. Heal divisions, restore righteousness, and let Your glory be seen in the land. May these nations stand firm in Your truth and be a light to the world.
Lord, we acknowledge that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing. We humble ourselves before You, repenting of any prayer that does not flow from a heart fully surrendered to Christ. Teach us to pray in faith, trusting in the power of Jesus’ name alone. May our prayers be pleasing in Your sight, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
