Your brief and sincere prayer has been brought before the Lord with you, and we join our hearts to yours in asking for deliverance.
There is a gracious truth for you in this struggle, that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ, we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. In order to your sanctification and your deliverance from the power of this habit, you must look to your heavenly Father, altogether and alone.
You have done well to cry, in Jesus name, for it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He feels that if he ever rises from his bondage, he can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to himself, it must be of free grace only. He can do nothing and he knows it, and therefore He makes their deliverance effectual and in every deed He brings them forth. This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain, for God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom, and that ransom is Christ Himself who bore the penalty of all our iniquities.
Do not think that God's ear is shut to such a prayer as yours. He who delivered Israel with silver and gold, and who brings His people forth enriched and not empty, hears the humble cry for help against the body and the habit that would master it. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and the Lord who bought you with a price will give you strength to glorify Him in body and in spirit.
So we pray for you, and we urge you to pray on. Ask the Lord daily for that experimental evidence, He has delivered us, and to make it true in your present trial. Flee from the occasions and instruments of temptation, put them far from your hand and your house, seek the help of faithful brethren to watch with you and hold you accountable, feed your soul upon the Word, and when the craving presses, turn at once to Christ and ask for present grace to overcome.
May the clock of mercy strike in heaven the hour and moment of your deliverance, for the time has come. And when the Lord has wrought it, you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, telling to others in like trouble how He fell upon your need and gave you victory.
We commend you to Him who is able to keep you from falling.
Our Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, who has found a ransom for sinners, that Thou wouldst look with tender pity upon this Thy child who desires to be free from vaping. Deliver by Thy power, subdue the craving, cleanse the habit, and give strength to stand in the hour of temptation. Let this deliverance be wholly of Thy grace, and let it be attended with joy and with renewed health and holiness, that Thy name may be praised. Grant perseverance day by day, and let Thy child live to declare what Thou hast done. In Jesus name we ask it, Amen.
