Jesus Christ, please help me fast. I am hoping the fast clears me of religious persecution and murderous thoughts. My murderous thoughts will not happen, and I'm left mad and instigated by happenings that seem to be petty revenge from bystanders and strangers, revenging on behalf of someone. LORD Jesus, please cure me of any resentment and anger after someone told me about a bomb dropping. Jesus Christ, please save me from any words that would have caused revenge to happen, such as mentioning a bomb while as a middle schooler in an airport, and a white person hearing and telling me that I shouldn't mention the word bomb. I hope the fasting strengthens my person who is not able to kill people, and must tolerate religious affliction. Thanks, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name, Amen.

We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting your heart’s cry to our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is mighty to save and deliver. Your desire to fast and seek God’s face in this struggle is commendable, for fasting humbles our flesh and sharpens our dependence on Him. The Scriptures remind us in **Matthew 17:21 (WEB)**, *"But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting."* We join you in seeking God’s power to break every chain of anger, resentment, and the tormenting thoughts that have plagued you.

The murderous thoughts you describe are not from God, for **1 John 3:15 (WEB)** warns, *"Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him."* These thoughts are attacks from the enemy, seeking to steal your peace and distort your witness as a follower of Christ. But take heart—**2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB)** declares, *"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* We rebuke these ungodly thoughts in Jesus’ name and declare that your mind is renewed by the washing of the Word (Ephesians 5:26). You are not defined by these struggles, but by Christ’s victory over sin and death.

Your mention of past words spoken in ignorance—such as the incident in the airport—reveals a heart that recognizes the weight of speech. **Proverbs 18:21 (WEB)** tells us, *"Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit."* If there was any harm caused by your words, we pray for God’s redemption over it. Repentance is the path to freedom, and **1 John 1:9 (WEB)** assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* If you have not already, confess these things to the Lord, receive His forgiveness, and release any lingering guilt to Him. He does not hold your past against you (Hebrews 8:12).

The religious persecution you face is a sobering reality for many believers, but remember **Matthew 5:10-12 (WEB)**: *"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you."* Your suffering is not in vain. God sees it, and He will use it to refine you and draw you closer to Himself. **Romans 8:18 (WEB)** reminds us, *"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."*

As for the resentment and anger stirred by the words of others—even something as jarring as the mention of a "bomb dropping"—we pray that God would replace these emotions with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:7**). **Ephesians 4:26-27 (WEB)** instructs us, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* Anger itself is not sinful, but when it is nursed, it becomes a foothold for the enemy. We pray that God would help you release these feelings to Him, trusting in His justice and sovereignty. **Romans 12:19 (WEB)** says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*

We also address the "petty revenge" you sense from bystanders and strangers. It is possible that some of this is spiritual opposition, for **Ephesians 6:12 (WEB)** tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We pray that God would open your eyes to see any spiritual battles at work and equip you with His armor (Ephesians 6:10-18). At the same time, we encourage you to examine whether there are any areas in your own heart or actions that may unintentionally provoke others. **Proverbs 15:1 (WEB)** says, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."* Ask God for wisdom in how you respond to others, that your words and demeanor would reflect Christ.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who seeks Your face through fasting and prayer. Lord Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace, and we ask that You would flood their heart and mind with Your peace, casting out every murderous thought, every seed of resentment, and every root of anger. We break the power of these strongholds in the name of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**). Father, we pray that this fast would be a time of deep spiritual breakthrough, where You cleanse and renew their mind, replacing darkness with Your light.

Lord, we lift up the religious persecution they endure. Strengthen them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that their reward is great in heaven. Protect them from harm, both physically and spiritually, and let them feel Your presence as a shield around them (**Psalm 3:3**). We pray that any words spoken in the past that may have caused harm would be covered by Your blood, Jesus, and that You would redeem any consequences for Your glory.

Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of anger and resentment. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven us (**Colossians 3:13**). Remove any bitterness and fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear (**1 John 4:18**). We pray for a spirit of discernment, that they would recognize spiritual attacks and stand firm in Your truth.

Lord, we thank You that You are their Provider, Protector, and Peace. We ask that You would surround them with godly community—believers who can encourage, pray for, and walk alongside them in this season. Let them not walk this path alone, but feel the support of Your body, the Church.

We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (**Romans 8:37**), and that no scheme of the enemy will prevail against them. We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking God through His Word during this fast. Meditate on passages that speak of His peace, such as **John 14:27 (WEB)**, where Jesus says, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."* Let Scripture be your anchor. If you feel led, share your fast with a trusted believer or pastor who can pray with you and offer accountability.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (**Deuteronomy 31:6**). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (**Hebrews 12:2**). He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (**Philippians 1:6**).

Dear friend,

We're right there with you in spirit, joining you in this time of fasting and seeking the Lord's face. It's amazing how fasting can quiet our flesh and amplify our hunger for God. In times like these, we find solace in His promise, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3, NIV).

We understand the burden you're carrying - the religious persecution, the murderous thoughts that haunt you, and the anger stirred by words spoken in ignorance. It's a heavy load, but remember, our God is a God who sees, who cares, and who is more than able to bear our burdens with us.

As you fast, we encourage you to meditate on God's Word. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that as you seek Him, He is healing those wounds, even the ones you can't see.

We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. As you've mentioned, some words spoken to you have caused harm. We encourage you to forgive, not because what happened was okay, but because unforgiveness can keep you bound. As it's written, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32, NIV).

Let's pray together:

"Lord Jesus, we come to You today, laying down our burdens at Your feet. We ask for Your healing touch on the wounds of our hearts. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us. Fill us with Your peace, which transcends all understanding. Lord, we trust that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

You're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is the Lord. Keep seeking Him, and remember, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6, NIV).

Blessings,
