Beloved of All
Your prayer for the covering of your home, your minds and your bodies is heard, and it reflects a right desire to look to the Lord for safety in every area of life.
Fear often comes when we forget who the Lord is and what He has promised. David said that even when he walked through the valley of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. When we remember the Lord, our souls are lifted up. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed out, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave. The enemy often tries to use fear to move us to make wrong decisions. That is why it is important not to act from panic, but to act from trust. We do what is wise and prudent, but not because we are driven by dread of what the enemy might do. If God is our protector, He can keep us wherever we walk in obedience.
God has given real protection to those who walk close to Him. Scripture speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and finding shelter under His wings. His truth is a shield against the attacks of the enemy. Jesus Himself answered the enemy with the truth of God's Word. When we hold to that truth, it guards our minds and hearts. The Bible also says the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them, and that the Lord is near to those who trust Him, present in trouble, hearing prayer, bringing deliverance and honor. To taste and see that the Lord is good is to learn by experience that those who put their trust in Him lack no good thing He wants to give.
That kind of trust is tied to what Scripture calls the fear of the Lord. This is not a cowering dread, but a reverent awe at who God is, His greatness and power and holiness. It is the beginning and the sum of true wisdom and knowledge. To fear the Lord is to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, to turn away from evil, from pride and arrogance and perverse speech. When that reverence shapes a home, it brings order. God has given His ways for the family because the things He commands build up family relationships, and the things He warns against tear them down. As you honor Him with your lives, your health, your relationships and your finances, He brings His order and peace into those places.
He also cares about your health. All healing comes from Him, whether it comes instantly or gradually through the processes He has placed in our bodies. We can trust Him to work in His way and in His time, and to bring healing to mind and body as He wills.
I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to guard this family and this home. Cover their minds and bodies with Your peace. Let Your truth be a shield over them and let Your presence be their confidence so that spirits of fear, anxiety and confusion have no place. Drive out all oppression and sickness and bring Your order over their health, their relationships and their finances. Send Your help and keep them from harm, and teach them to walk in the reverent fear of You that is the beginning of wisdom. Help them to remember You daily, to trust You fully, and to rest in Your faithful protection. Amen.
