We are lifting up ###, ###, and their family in prayer, seeking God's will for their lives. We are encouraged by the words of James 5:14-15, which remind us, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Firstly, we pray for ###'s healing. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity and command it to leave in Jesus' name. We ask God to touch ###'s heart and bring complete healing and restoration. Remember, dear ones, that God's will is always for our good and His glory. As Romans 8:28 says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
For ###, we pray for emotional support and strength. We know that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask God to fill her with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Regarding their marriage, we pray for strength and unity. We remind both ### and ### of the sacred covenant they made before God and the importance of keeping that covenant. Malachi 2:14-15 says, "Yahweh has attended as a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant. Had he not made them one, and left with him a remnant of the Spirit? For the man who doesn’t love his wife, but says he loves God, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his wife whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? Therefore pay special attention to your own spirit, so that you don’t deal treacherously." We pray that God will strengthen their bond and emotions towards each other, and that their marriage will be a testimony of God's love and faithfulness.
The prayer request mentions emotions several times, so we want to address this specifically. We are reminded in Colossians 3:1-2 to "seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things that are on the earth." We pray that ### and ### will fix their minds on Jesus and His promises, not on their emotions or circumstances.
Lastly, we pray for ###'s relationships at the nursing board. We ask God to give her favor and wisdom in these relationships, and to use her as a light and witness for Him.
Finally, we want to encourage both ### and ### to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, as Hebrews 12:2 says, "looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." It is only in the name of Jesus that we can come to God the Father. No other name has been given that we can be saved. The Bible says "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11)
