We join with you in thanking our Lord Jesus Christ for the wonderful life, miracles, and blessings He has bestowed upon you and your son. It is beautiful to see your gratitude for His provision—jobs, health, family, and the comforts of life. Truly, as Scripture reminds us, *"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow"* (James 1:17, WEB). Your heart of thankfulness honors Him, and we lift our voices with yours in praise for His faithfulness.
We also stand with you in the pain and concern over the unjust taking of what is rightfully yours. The Word of God speaks clearly about such matters: *"You shall not steal"* (Exodus 20:15, WEB), and *"The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him"* (Proverbs 11:1, WEB). Those who take what does not belong to them will answer to God, for *"the wicked borrows, and doesn’t pay back, but the righteous give generously"* (Psalm 37:21, WEB). The Lord sees the deceit and injustice, and He is a God of justice who will not allow the wicked to prosper forever. *"Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb"* (Psalm 37:1-2, WEB).
Yet, even in this trial, we are called to trust in the Lord’s sovereignty and timing. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday"* (Psalm 37:5-6, WEB). We pray that the Lord will expose the deceitful actions of those who have taken from you and your son, and that He will move upon their hearts to restore what has been stolen. May He also grant you wisdom to safeguard your possessions moving forward, for *"the wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit"* (Proverbs 14:8, WEB). Teach your son—and all of us—the value of stewardship, that we may honor God with the resources He entrusts to us.
We also notice your prayer for your family to "never sin." While this is a noble desire, we must remember that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23, WEB). Our hope is not in our own ability to avoid sin, but in the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7-9, WEB). It is only through His grace and the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to walk in righteousness. Let us continually seek His face, repent when we stumble, and rely on His strength to live in a manner worthy of His calling.
Now, let us pray together over these matters:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister and their son. We thank You for Your faithfulness in their lives—for the jobs You have provided, the health You have sustained, and the family You have blessed them with. Lord, we ask that You continue to lead and guide them in every step they take. May Your rod and Your staff comfort them, just as the psalmist declared, and may they find their peace and security in You alone.
Lord, we bring before You the injustice they have suffered at the hands of deceitful people. You are a God who sees all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You expose the wrongdoing and bring conviction upon those who have taken what does not belong to them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and compel them to restore what has been stolen. Let no weapon formed against Your children prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). Protect their finances, Lord, and grant them wisdom to steward their resources in a way that honors You.
We pray for unity and peace within their family. May Your love bind them together, and may they encourage one another in faith. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, and to trust in Your justice rather than seeking revenge. Remind them that vengeance belongs to You, and You will repay (Romans 12:19, WEB).
Finally, Father, we ask that You strengthen them to walk in righteousness, not by their own power, but by the power of Your Spirit. When they stumble, convict them quickly and draw them back to You. May they always find their hope and confidence in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who paid the price for their sins and offers them eternal life.
We declare these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
