Praying in Jesus Name.

[Chrysostom]

Thank you for sharing your prayer with us. We join you in thanking our heavenly Father for His blessings, for every good thing comes from His hand and He is the cause of all that is good to us.

We pray with you for protection and for deliverance from evil in Jesus' name. Scripture teaches that there are two great gifts that only Christ can give, deliverance from evil and supply of good. Through Him we are delivered from the curse and brought into sonship, that we might receive adoption as sons and put on Christ.

We ask the Lord to deliver you and your family not only from outward danger, as He delivered Paul from the lion's mouth, but also from every evil work, so that you may resist sin and not be overcome by the one who is called the ruler of this darkness. The enemy rules only over those who give themselves to him, he had nothing in Christ, and in Christ we have hope of being kept from condemnation.

Remember that evil is not part of God's good creation. The soul and the body are God's works, and willing itself is from God, but evil comes from our own choices when we turn from Him. The days are called evil not because God made them so, but because of the evil deeds done in them by men. Therefore we look to God who is righteous and good and a lover of mankind, who made all things from nothing and makes His invisible power known through what He has made.

May the Lord keep you and your household in His care, strengthen you to walk in what is good, and guard you from all wickedness. May He supply every need according to His grace and keep you in the faith through His Spirit, so that you continue to live as children of God.

We thank God for you and pray that He will cover your family with His peace and keep you from evil, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
