Your prayer for your family to be protected, healed, and drawn into deeper love for God is beautiful, and it reflects the very thirst God Himself has placed in the human heart. As the psalmist said, as the deer pants for the water brook, so our soul pants after God. That longing to love Him more each day is not something you manufacture on your own, it is the Spirit drawing you into fellowship with Him.
Scripture shows us that God is not only a distant power or title, but a personal God who wants to be known. We come to know Him personally through Jesus Christ, His Son. When we confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in us and we in Him, and that relationship becomes real and living. It is through Him that we have the promise of eternal life, a promise we can trust completely because God cannot lie. What He has promised before the world began, He will keep. He created us with the power of choice so that our love for Him would be meaningful, not forced, and He delights when we choose to return His love.
That love itself is evidence of His work in you. Love is of God, and the fruit of His Spirit in our lives is love, not a fleeting emotion, but the steady agape love that seeks the good of others and grows in devotion to Christ and to one another. Ask Him to increase the faith He has already given you as a gift, for faith comes from Him, and He is the one who keeps us by His power as we trust Him.
For your family, know that God sees and values each one of you equally. He is no respecter of persons. There are no favorites with Him. Each of you is important to Him, and He is more willing to give help than we are to receive it. He has already shown how willing He is by giving His own Son for us, and if He did that, how much more will He freely give us what we need. That includes healing. He is able to heal, and He is compassionate toward our suffering. At the same time, He sometimes allows trials to test and purify our faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes. Those hard seasons can become the fire that refines us and teaches us to rest more fully on His goodness and grace as we have learned it from His Word.
A holy and loving walk grows as we live with a continual consciousness of His presence, remembering that in Him we live and move and have our being. Be ready to hear His voice in His Word rather than rushing to speak, and let His Word strengthen you when you do not understand why hardship has come. He is both just and merciful, and He does not turn away a heart that sincerely seeks Him.
So we pray with you, Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would place Your hand of protection over this family and bring Your healing according to Your will and power. Draw each heart closer to You, increase their faith, pour Your love into them by Your Spirit, and help them to know You more personally and to love You more deeply each day. Keep them in Your grace and teach them to walk in the joy of doing Your will. Amen.
