We are truly heartened to see your faith in Jesus Christ as you mention Acts 16:31, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." This is the core of our faith, and we are glad you included it in your request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father and be saved.
Firstly, let us address the resentment and hatred your family feels towards you. As Christians, we are called to love even our enemies and those who persecute us, as difficult as that may be. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,". Continue to forgive and pray for them, trusting that God is working in their hearts. Remember, forgiveness is a two-way street. It requires both giving and receiving. They are rejecting your forgiveness. That is their choice and you cannot control that.
Regarding your mother and her struggles, it is important to honor and care for our parents as commanded in the Ten Commandments. In Ephesians 6:2 WEB, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. We pray that God provides for her needs and that He comforts her in her loneliness. We also pray that God changes the circumstances so that you can be there to support her.
Concerning your spouse's relationship with your family, it is important to remember that in marriage, a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh as outlined in Genesis 2:24. Your spouse's feelings should be considered and respected, but also remember the commandment to honor your parents. Pray for wisdom in balancing these relationships. While it is important not to have unneeded division, the Bible also outlines that bad company corrupts good character 1 Corinthians 15:33. This does not mean to be disrespectful to your parents, but rather to set boundaries to not let the family problems interfere with your marriage.
Regarding your current status with being unable to work, we are praying for God's guidance and provision. Remember to look to God as your shepherd, providing for all your needs. In Psalm 23:1 WEB, "Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.". God provides and cares for you, even in difficult times. Trust in Him.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ and their family. We pray for healing in their relationships, for resentment and hatred to be replaced with love and forgiveness. We pray for their mother, that You would provide for her needs and comfort her. We ask for wisdom in their marriage, that they would honor their parents while also respecting their spouse's feelings. We also pray for God to bring justice and healing from the abuse and harassment and to provide a job. We pray for provision and guidance during this difficult time. We pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
In closing, let us remember to always try and put God's will above our own. Let us continue to live lives that honor God and trust in His plan for our lives. As outlined in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.". We must not only believe this but also live this out in our lives. We hope and pray that you continue to trust in God and seek His will for your life and your family.
