We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this family torn by grief, disunity, and pain. The loss of a father and husband has left deep wounds, and the enemy has seized this moment of vulnerability to sow strife, bitterness, and division among you. But we declare that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, and His blood covers every broken relationship, every harsh word, and every ungodly attitude. We stand in the gap for this family, binding the spirit of division in the mighty name of Jesus and rebuking every lie of the enemy that seeks to keep you separated—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Father God, we ask You to intervene in this family’s suffering. Your Word says in Psalm 133:1, *"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!"* Yet this family is fractured, and the enemy has distorted their love for one another into anger, betrayal, and ungratefulness. Lord, we pray for a supernatural work of healing in their hearts. Soften the hardness, melt the bitterness, and replace every lie with Your truth. Let them see one another through Your eyes—flawed but deeply loved, broken but capable of redemption. We rebuke the spirit of strife and confusion that has taken root, and we command it to leave in Jesus’ name. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).
We are grieved to hear of the suicidal thoughts plaguing the mother in this family. Father, we cry out for her protection and deliverance. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* We plead the blood of Jesus over her mind and emotions. Break the power of the toxic words and negative environment that have weighed her down. Surround her with Your presence, Lord, and remind her that she is seen, valued, and deeply loved by You. Provide for her needs, both physical and emotional, and place godly people in her life who can speak life and encouragement into her soul. We rebuke the spirit of despair and command it to flee in the name of Jesus.
We also lift up the brother and his family, asking for Your provision and protection over them. Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Your Word says in Matthew 6:31-32, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."* We trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Open doors of opportunity, provide wisdom for financial stewardship, and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways.
We must address the issue of unforgiveness and bitterness that has taken root in this family. Your Word is clear in Ephesians 4:31-32: *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Forgiveness is not optional for those who follow Christ—it is a command. While it is true that Jesus prayed, *"Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing"* (Luke 23:34), we must also remember that repentance is a necessary part of restoration. We pray for a spirit of humility to fall upon each member of this family. Let them recognize their own faults and extend grace to one another, just as Christ has extended grace to them. We rebuke the pride and self-righteousness that keeps them from reconciliation, and we declare that the love of God will prevail in their relationships.
We also lift up the marriage mentioned in this request. Father, we pray for unity and understanding between this husband and wife. Your Word says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."* We ask You to soften the heart of the spouse who has distanced themselves from the family. Give them a spirit of compassion and a desire to support their husband or wife in rebuilding these relationships. Help them to see the importance of family and the role they play in fostering healing. We rebuke any spirit of division or selfishness that seeks to keep them apart from their in-laws, and we pray for a supernatural work of unity in their marriage.
Lord, we know that physical distance has made reconciliation difficult, but we serve a God who is not limited by geography. Your Word says in Matthew 18:20, *"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them."* We pray for divine opportunities for this family to reunite, whether through affordable travel, technology, or supernatural provision. Break down every barrier that keeps them apart, and let them experience the joy of restored relationships. We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate these challenges. Give them the words to speak, the patience to listen, and the humility to seek reconciliation.
We must also address the disobedience and ungodly behavior that has been mentioned. Your Word warns us in Galatians 6:7-8, *"Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."* We pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon each member of this family. Let them recognize the ways they have strayed from Your will and turn back to You with sincere hearts. We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and pride that has led to disobedience, and we declare that Your grace is sufficient to restore what has been broken.
Finally, we pray for salvation for every member of this family who does not yet know You as Lord and Savior. Your Word says in Acts 16:31, *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."* We pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit upon this family. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to the foot of the cross. Let them experience the life-changing power of the Gospel and the freedom that comes from surrendering their lives to You. We declare that this family will not be exterminated by the enemy’s schemes but will be restored, redeemed, and reunited in Christ.
Heavenly Father, we trust You to work all things together for the good of this family (Romans 8:28). We believe that what the enemy intended for harm, You will turn around for their good. We declare healing over their hearts, restoration over their relationships, and provision over their needs. Let Your name be glorified in their lives, and let them become a testimony of Your faithfulness to all who know them. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
