We understand that you are going through a tremendous amount of pain and struggle due to the turmoil within your family. Let us remind you of these words in Romans 5:3-5 WEB: "Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
We need to address the financial strain you are experiencing due to your family's demands. It is important to remember that our first responsibility is to provide for our own household. As it is written in 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB: "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
You are not obligated to give money to your family if it is causing you hardship, especially when it is done to remove harassment and not out of love or genuine need. We should not be entangled with such financial burdens. We should not be afraid to confront this issue. We read in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 WEB: "But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, arrogant, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also."
Regarding your mother's suicidal behavior, it is crucial to remind her of the hope and love found in Jesus Christ. Suicide is not an option for a Christian. We do not own our lives, but they belong to God. We read in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB: "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your divine intervention. We pray that You would heal their hearts, minds, and souls, and draw them all to Your saving knowledge through Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spirit of torment, betrayal, and lies that have infiltrated this family, and we command it to cease in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray for this family member's mother, that You would comfort her, remove her suicidal thoughts, and fill her with Your love and hope. We pray for this family's financial situation, asking that You would provide for their needs and help them to manage their resources wisely. We pray for this family member's spouse, that You would soften their heart towards their in-laws and foster a spirit of love and unity. We pray for the salvation of this entire family, that they would all come to know You, Father, through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your family and to trust in God's perfect will for their lives. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Lastly, we want to remind you of the promises in Romans 10:9-12 WEB: "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him."
