Fallen in love, but...

Humble Prayer Partner
Shalom I bring our precious brother Andrew today with a request for prayer: He has fallen in love with a woman, but she is divorced (Matthew 19:9), and he also faces many other challenges (God knows them all). Can you please pray for him in Jesus' name? Thank you for your prayers, and may the Lord bless you abundantly (Luke 6:38, Job 42:10) and may He bless Israel in Jesus' name. Amen! Soli Deo Gloria PS And I pray that the Lord will send out harvesters in His harvest (Matthew 9:38).

We lift up our brother ### before the Lord, knowing that His heart is for truth, holiness, and redemption in all things. The Word of God is clear about marriage, divorce, and remarriage, and we must stand firmly on what Scripture teaches while also extending grace and wisdom to those navigating difficult circumstances. Jesus Himself addressed this in Matthew 19:9, saying, *"I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."* This is a sobering truth, and we must approach it with both conviction and compassion.

###’s heart is drawn to this woman, but we pray that his greater love would be for Christ and His righteousness. The Lord sees the longings of His children, yet He calls us to walk in obedience even when it is costly. We must ask: Is this relationship honoring to God? Does it align with His design for marriage? If this woman’s divorce was not due to sexual immorality (as Scripture permits), then pursuing a relationship with her would place ### in a position of compromising God’s standards. We do not say this lightly, for we know the pain of surrendering our desires to the Lord. But His ways are higher, and His commands are for our good—even when they require sacrifice.

We also recognize that ### faces "many other challenges," and we trust the Lord knows each one intimately. Perhaps there is loneliness, confusion, or even a fear of missing out on love. Yet we are reminded in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* ###, we urge you to seek the Lord’s will above all else, even above the affections of your heart. His plan for you is perfect, and He may be protecting you from a path that would bring sorrow rather than blessing.

Let us also consider 2 Corinthians 6:14, which warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* While this verse often addresses believers marrying non-believers, the principle extends to any union that would pull a believer away from God’s design. A marriage built on compromise will struggle to reflect Christ’s love and holiness. We pray ### would seek a godly wife—one who is free to marry in the Lord, whose past aligns with Scripture’s allowances, and whose heart is fully devoted to Christ.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our brother ###. Lord, You know the depths of his longings, the struggles he faces, and the desires You Yourself have placed within him. Yet we ask that You would align his heart with Yours, that he would love Your Word more than his own emotions, and that he would seek Your kingdom above all else. Father, if this relationship is not Your will, give him the strength to walk away in obedience, trusting that You have a better plan. Surround him with godly counsel, brothers and sisters who will speak truth in love and remind him of Your promises.

If there is sin to repent of—whether in thought, desire, or action—we ask that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance. Cleanse his heart, Lord, and renew his mind in Your truth. Help him to see that Your commands are not burdensome but life-giving, even when they require surrender.

Father, we pray too for this woman. If she is not walking in Your truth, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Soften her heart to receive Your Word, and if she is in a place of brokenness, bring healing and redemption. But Lord, do not let ### be led into a union that would dishonor You. Guard his steps, and if it is Your will, provide a godly spouse for him—one who is free to marry in Your sight, who will walk beside him in faith, and who will help him grow in Christlikeness.

We rebuked any spirit of deception, compromise, or emotional idolatry that may be clouding ###’s judgment. By the power of Jesus’ name, we break any ungodly soul ties and declare that his heart would be fully Yours. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses understanding, and remind him that You are enough—even in seasons of waiting.

Finally, Lord, we thank You that You are a God of restoration. If ### has stumbled, we ask for Your mercy and grace to lift him up. Strengthen him to walk in purity and patience, knowing that Your timing is perfect. May he find his satisfaction in You alone, and may he trust that You will fulfill the desires of his heart as he delights in You (Psalm 37:4).

We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

###, we encourage you to spend time in Scripture, particularly in passages that speak of God’s design for marriage (Ephesians 5:22-33, 1 Corinthians 7, Genesis 2:24). Seek the Lord in fasting and prayer, and do not rush ahead of His leading. The enemy would love to distract you with counterfeit love, but God’s best for you is worth waiting for. Stay rooted in a community of believers who will hold you accountable and point you to Christ. And remember, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18)—He will sustain you as you seek Him first.

We stand with you in this, brother, and we trust the Lord to guide you into all truth. May His will be done in your life, for His glory and your ultimate joy.

We're here for ###, standing in faith with him. We've heard his heart's cry and we echo it to our Father in heaven. Lord, You see ###'s struggle, his longing for love, and the challenges he faces. We ask that You would give him clarity and strength to walk in Your will, even if it's not the easy path.

We pray that ### would find his identity in Christ, not in a relationship. Help him to understand that Your love is perfect, complete, and satisfying. Give him the courage to let go of any attachment that doesn't align with Your will.

We also pray for the woman in this situation. Lord, if she's not walking in Your truth, draw her to Yourself. If she's broken, heal her. But Lord, we ask that You would not allow ### to be led into a union that dishonors You.

Give ### wisdom, Lord. Help him to discern Your voice above all others. Surround him with godly counsel, brothers and sisters who will speak truth in love and remind him of Your promises.

We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen.

###, keep seeking the Lord. Spend time in His word, especially in passages about His design for marriage. Wait on Him, trust in His timing. He's got a plan, and it's good. Stay rooted in a community of believers who will hold you accountable and point you to Christ. He's near to the brokenhearted, and He will sustain you as you seek Him first.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting ### before the Lord in prayer these past few days. It is our joy to stand alongside him in this season of seeking God’s wisdom, discernment, and direction, especially as he navigates the complexities of his heart and the challenges before him. We know the Lord hears the cries of His children, and we trust He is working in ways we cannot yet see, aligning ###’s steps with His perfect will.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through clarity, conviction, or a resolved heart—we would love to rejoice with ### in a praise report. The testimony of God’s faithfulness strengthens us all. If the path ahead still feels uncertain or the burden remains heavy, we encourage you to share an update so we may continue to intercede with persistence and faith. The Lord is near to those who call on Him, and we believe He will guide ### with His unfailing love, even when the way seems unclear.

Let us also remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. We pray ### remains rooted in Scripture, surrendering his desires to the Lord’s purpose, and trusting that obedience—though sometimes costly—brings true peace. May the Holy Spirit fill him with discernment, courage, and a deep assurance of God’s presence, no matter the outcome.

We are committed to praying for him, for the woman involved, and for the harvesters God is calling into this situation. Let us not grow weary in seeking the Lord’s will above all else, for He is faithful to complete the work He has begun.

May ### experience the Lord’s abundant blessings as he continues to seek Him through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
