Your prayers for my legal release from refugee status and your support for this initiative mean everything to me.

We are deeply moved by your testimony and your perseverance through these years of waiting in asylum without permission to work and without aid, and we thank God for your faithfulness to turn suffering into sacred artwork for His glory. Your desire to serve humanity, to meet God in that service, and to illustrate every verse of the Bible after completing advanced theological education is a beautiful expression of faith in action, and we want to lift you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus name.

The Word teaches us that faith without works is dead, as James 2:17 reminds us, and that whatever we do for the least of these we do for Christ Himself, as Jesus said in Matthew 25:40. Your labor to make the Scriptures visible and alive for others is a true work of ministry, and we pray God sustains your hands and your heart for it. We also hear the weight of your suffering and the long season of being a sojourner. God has special care for the stranger and the displaced, for He says in Psalm 46:1 that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and in Psalm 9:9 that the Lord will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble. We are reminded that our present sufferings are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us in Romans 8:18, and that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose in Romans 8:28. Your perseverance is not unseen.

We also want to lovingly encourage you on one vital truth. In your request you speak of meeting God and of faith, but you do not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture declares in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to continue to place your complete trust and your artwork and your future fully in His name.

We join together now to pray for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother to You, thanking You for the gift he is and for the calling You have placed on his life to illustrate Your Holy Word. We ask You to strengthen him not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up as promised in Galatians 6:9. Grant him renewed strength each day, provision for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus as in Philippians 4:19, and deep peace that surpasses understanding as he waits. Lord, You know the burden of his refugee status, the closed doors to work and aid, and the longing for legal release. We ask for Your favor upon his case and upon the authorities who govern it, that justice and mercy would prevail according to Romans 13:1, and that You would open the doors that no man can shut. We pray You would grant him legal freedom, permission to provide for himself, and a stable place to continue this sacred work. Use his illustrations to draw many to know You through Jesus Christ, and let his own suffering be a testimony that points others to the hope that is in You. We trust Your perfect timing and Your perfect will, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Redeemer. Amen.

We were so encouraged to read how you have kept turning hardship into worship through your art. Years waiting in asylum without permission to work and without aid would wear anyone down, and yet you have completed advanced theological studies and are giving yourself to illustrating every verse of the Bible. That dedication is remarkable and we thank God for the way you are serving Him and others even in such constrained circumstances.

We understand how heavy the uncertainty around your legal status must feel, especially when you long to provide for yourself and continue this calling more freely. We are praying with you for clarity and a just resolution to your case, and for daily provision and protection while you wait.

If you have not already, it may help to stay connected to a trusted local refugee legal aid service or a church based advocacy ministry in your area who can walk with you on paperwork and timelines. Having someone who knows the local system can ease some of the burden as you keep creating.

Father, we bring our brother before You. You see his years of waiting, his faithfulness, and his desire to honor You through this work. Provide for his needs, open the right doors for his legal situation according to Your will, and sustain his strength and hope. Guard him and let this artwork continue to bless many. Your testimony of perseverance through long waiting and want has been heard with gratitude and prayer before the Lord. To hear that years of asylum, without permission to work and without aid, have not quenched your desire to serve Him, but have rather been turned into sacred labor, is a cause for thanksgiving. That you have given yourself to advanced theological study and to the great undertaking of illustrating every verse of Scripture shows a heart that understands what we have often taught, that the work of Christ in us and for us does not exempt us from work and service, nor does the work of the Holy Spirit supersede human effort, but rather excites it. Where the Spirit works He makes men work, and you are laboring and striving in a personal and painful field.

We take your words to heart, I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day, for the night comes when no man can work. You are working while it is day, though the day has been darkened by trial, and you are doing not a work of your own devising but seeking to make the Word of God visible to others. This is true Sabbath work, work that honors God among the sons of men. And our prayer for you is that of the psalmist, Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands for us, yes, establish the work of our hands. We pray that He who sees your two handed labor, done with your whole strength in the truth of God, will establish it and make it fruitful for the winning of souls and the building up of the church.

We will pray earnestly for your legal release from refugee status, that the Lord in His providence would move the hearts of those in authority to act with justice and mercy, and that a door would be opened for you to provide honestly and freely for your needs. We will pray also for your daily bread in this season of zero aid, that He who is the refuge for the guilty and the weary would be your strong consolation, and that you would know His provision day by day. Above all we pray that you would continue to cast yourself with all your weight upon the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is no other refuge and no other salvation. It is His finished work that gives value to all our work, and where He has begun a good work He will carry it on.

Be encouraged that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. Your suffering is not wasted when it is laid at His feet. May the Lord keep you steadfast, make your hands skillful for the sacred artwork He has given you, and in His perfect time bring forth your release and the wider usefulness of your labors. We hold you before the throne of grace and ask the Lord to let His work appear unto His servant and to crown your faithful toil with His blessing.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
