Faith and wisdom for my worried self

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord my heavenly father, Please pour your wisdom upon me. I have been feeling angry and stressed because of the unsuccessful job hunt. The feedback was full of compliments without an offer. Lord, I am feeling trapped and I feel my master degree actually threatens many in my same field, but I need to go through them to get a job offer. I cannot see why this is part of your plan. I just found out I am pregnant while I am stressed out about the job hunt. I am grateful, but I am very worried my career will go south completely. Lord, I have so much experience and abilities. Why haven't you opened any doors? Why cannot I hear you when I am so depressed?

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep concern, lifting your burdens to Him who cares for you more than you can imagine. Your feelings of anger, stress, and confusion are real, and we acknowledge the weight of the struggles you are carrying—the job hunt, the unexpected pregnancy, and the uncertainty about God’s plan. But let us remind you, precious sister, that even in the midst of these trials, the Lord has not abandoned you. His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see the path ahead.

First, we rejoice with you over the gift of new life growing within you! Children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3). Though this news may have come at a time of great stress, we encourage you to trust that God’s timing is sovereign. He knew about this child before you did, and He will provide for you both. Do not let fear steal the joy of this blessing. The Lord is your shepherd; you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). He who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field will certainly care for you and this precious child (Matthew 6:26-30).

As for your job search, we understand the frustration of receiving compliments without offers. It can feel as though your qualifications are working against you, or that doors are being shut without reason. But remember what Scripture tells us: *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps"* (Proverbs 16:9). Your degree and experience are gifts from God, and He will use them in His perfect way. It may be that He is protecting you from a position that is not His best for you, or that He is preparing you for something even greater than you can imagine. Trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We must also address the depression and spiritual heaviness you are experiencing. When we are overwhelmed, it can feel as though God is silent. But His silence is not absence—it is often an invitation to draw nearer to Him in faith. The enemy would love for you to believe that God has forgotten you, but that is a lie. Jesus said, *"I will never leave you nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). In your moments of despair, cling to His promises. Cry out to Him in worship, even when you don’t feel like it. The psalmist wrote, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise Him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God"* (Psalm 42:11).

We also want to gently remind you that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard. *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not already, we urge you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you have already done this, then continue to approach the throne of grace with boldness, knowing that Jesus is your mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, asking that You would pour out Your peace upon her troubled heart. Lord, she is weary from the job search, anxious about the future, and overwhelmed by the responsibility of motherhood. But You, O God, are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You open the right doors for employment—doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Give her favor with those in authority, and let her skills and education be used for Your glory. Remove any fear or doubt that the enemy has planted in her mind, and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Lord, we thank You for the precious life growing within her. Protect this child, and give our sister the strength, wisdom, and joy she needs to embrace this new season. Provide for her financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Remind her that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14).

Father, we rebuke the spirits of depression, anxiety, and discouragement that have sought to weigh her down. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, renewing her mind and giving her a spirit of hope (Romans 12:2). Help her to trust You even when she cannot see the way forward. Let her rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for her good, because she loves You and is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, sister, we encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily. Let Scripture be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and speak life into your situation. And remember: *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7). Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into His perfect will.

We're right here with you, sister. We feel your frustration, your worry, and your uncertainty. It's okay to feel all these things, and it's also okay to not have all the answers right now. But remember, God is with you, even in the midst of this storm.

We want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's plan, even when it's hard to see. He sees you, He knows your heart, and He has a purpose in all of this. Your degree and experience are not going to waste. God will use them in His perfect timing and for His glory.

As for the pregnancy, what a precious gift! It's natural to feel worried about how this will affect your career, but try to find joy in this new life growing within you. God will provide for you both, just as He always has.

Keep praying, keep seeking, and keep trusting. And remember, Jesus is always with you, interceding on your behalf. Call on His name, and He will answer.

We're praying for you, sister. That God will open the right doors, give you favor, and fill you with His peace and hope. Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heartfelt concerns before the Lord these past few days. Your transparency about the weight of this season—juggling the emotional toll of the job search, the unexpected news of pregnancy, and the deep questions about God’s plan—has moved us to pray with even greater earnestness for you. We’ve been asking the Father to replace your anger and stress with His peace that surpasses understanding, to open doors no one can shut, and to remind you that He sees your gifts, your education, and your faithfulness even when the path forward feels hidden.

If the Lord has begun to shift your circumstances—whether through a breakthrough in your job search, a renewed sense of His presence in the silence, or a fresh perspective on this new chapter of motherhood—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs today. And if the waiting continues to feel heavy, please don’t hesitate to post an update so we can keep standing with you in prayer. This is a season where the enemy would love to isolate you with fear, but you are *not* alone. We are here, the body of Christ is here, and most importantly, Jesus is holding both your career and this precious new life in His capable hands.

May He flood you with His wisdom as you navigate interviews and decisions, guard your heart against discouragement, and fill you with supernatural hope for the future He has prepared. You are seen. You are valued. And He is working, even when you can’t yet see it. We’re believing for His perfect timing and provision over you and your growing family.
