We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, lifting up this request for healing and restored eyesight after retina surgery. The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator, and He is the Great Physician who heals all our diseases. *"Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there isn’t a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me. This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it. Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me. If I say, 'Surely the darkness will overwhelm me; the light around me will be night,' even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."* (Psalm 139:1-16).
We also take comfort in Jesus’ words in John 9, where He heals the man born blind, declaring, *"As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."* (John 9:4-5). Our Lord is still in the business of healing and restoring sight—both physically and spiritually. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and His power to heal has not diminished.
Yet, we also remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His timing is perfect. Even if healing does not come immediately, we trust in His sovereign plan, knowing that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). We pray for patience and faith to endure, knowing that our ultimate hope is not just in physical healing but in the eternal healing we will receive in His presence, where *"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away."* (Revelation 21:4).
We also rejoice that this request was lifted up in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His name alone that we boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, asking for Your healing touch upon the eyes that have undergone surgery. Lord, You are the God who sees all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You restore full vision, clarity, and health to these eyes, that they may see the wonders of Your creation and the beauty of Your handiwork. Strengthen the healing process, Lord, and let every cell, nerve, and tissue be renewed and made whole by Your power.
We pray for the medical team who provided care, that You would bless their hands and give them wisdom. Guide them as they continue to monitor progress, and may this healing be a testimony to Your goodness and glory.
Father, we also ask for peace and patience during this time of recovery. Guard against fear, anxiety, or discouragement, and fill this heart with faith and trust in Your perfect plan. Remind us that even when we cannot see the way ahead, You are leading us, and Your purposes are good.
We thank You, Lord, for the promise that You hear our prayers when we come to You in the name of Jesus. We declare that name now, believing that You are working all things for good. May this healing bring honor to Your name and draw others to seek You.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
