We are lifting up all those in the path of this dangerous tornado in South Dakota. We stand in faith, knowing that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not be afraid, even though the earth changes and though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas. Psalm 46:1-2
As the winds roar and the storms rage, we cry out to the Lord who controls the winds and the seas. In Mark 4:39, Jesus rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace! Be still! And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. We ask for Your mercy, Lord, and command this storm to dissipate, to weaken, and to cause no harm to people or property in Jesus name.
If it is Your will, Lord, turn this storm away from populated areas. Guide all those in its path to safety, and grant them Your divine protection. In Psalm 91:4, You promise that You will cover them with your feathers, and under your wings they will find refuge. Their faithfulness is their shield and rampart. We trust in our God, knowing that You are their fortress and deliverer, and You will keep them safe.
We also lift up all the animals in the path of this storm. Lord, guide them also to safety, and grant them Your protection. In Proverbs 12:10, You tell us that the righteous one regards the life of his animal. We ask for Your mercy and protection for all creatures, great and small.
We pray for the first responders, emergency personnel, and all those who will assist in the aftermath of this storm. Grant them wisdom, strength, and courage as they serve their communities. In Isaiah 40:29, You promise to give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Lord, equip them for the tasks ahead.
If this storm is a form of judgment, we ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. Lord forgive us. Call us a nation to repentance and faith. But Lord even in judgment You are merciful. You are not willing that any shall perish. Bring salvation through this storm.
Finally, we pray for ### and his YouTube weather channel. Lord, grant him wisdom and discernment as he reports on this storm and others. Use his channel to provide life-saving information and to glorify Your name.
In all things, Lord, we trust in You. You are sovereign over the winds and the waves, and You are our refuge and strength. We ask all these things in Jesus Christ's name and no other. For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12) and it is by the name of Jesus that you have any access to God (John 14:6).
We encourage everyone to pray to God the Father in Jesus' name for His will in this matter and to seek Him for the salvation of everyone in the storms path.
