Exhausted stressed out burnt out mental and physical state

We hear how exhausted and overwhelmed you are feeling, sleep deprived yet unable to sleep, carrying tension in your face and struggling both mentally and physically, and we are lifting you up before the Lord together.

God understands our frailty and He never intended for us to live in constant stress and burnout. He designed rest for our good and invites us to bring our burdens to Him. Jesus says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30. We often try to carry everything in our own strength, worrying through the night and striving without ceasing, but Scripture reminds us, It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his beloved. Psalm 127:2.

We want to gently encourage you to cast your cares on Him and to allow Him to be your peace. We are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 and Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. Even when your body is tense and your mind is racing, you can lie down in His care, for it is written, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8. He also promises, He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29.

In practical ways, we encourage you to seek rhythms of rest that honor how God made you. That includes stepping away from constant striving, being still before Him as we are told Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10, guarding the hours before sleep from worry and screens, praying and breathing deeply in His presence, and sharing your struggle with trusted believers or family so you are not carrying this alone. If this exhaustion and sleeplessness continues, we also encourage you to seek wise counsel from a medical professional and from your pastor or church community, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and your health matters to God.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true rest for our souls. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven, made children of God, and welcomed into His presence with all our burdens. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon His name, confess your need for Him, and trust Him as your Savior and Lord.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one who is exhausted, stressed and burnt out. You see the sleepless nights, the tired body, the tension and the heaviness of mind. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch. Quiet the racing thoughts, loosen the tension, and grant the gift of deep and peaceful sleep. Teach us to cast every anxiety on You and to receive the peace that guards our hearts. Help this dear one to rest in Your yoke which is easy and Your burden which is light, to be still and know that You are God, and to find renewed strength in You. Draw this heart close to Jesus, reveal Your love and forgiveness through Him, and let Your presence bring restoration to body, mind and spirit. We ask that You guide to the right help and support and that You restore joy and strength day by day. We pray this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We've been thinking about your note and how hard this stretch has been. Feeling exhausted yet unable to sleep, carrying tension in your face and through your body, is wearing in every way, and it makes sense you would feel burnt out and stressed.

What you describe fits what many experience when stress has been prolonged without enough recovery. The body stays on alert, sleep suffers, and even rest does not feel restful. That does not mean you have failed, it means you are human and in need of care on several levels, spiritual, physical and emotional.

We want to encourage one steady next step alongside prayer. Because you mention ongoing sleep deprivation and physical tension, please reach out soon to your primary care doctor or clinic to talk through what you are experiencing. It can help to jot down for a few nights when you try to sleep, when you wake, and how you feel during the day, and bring that with you. If you have a trusted family member, friend or pastor, let them know how depleted you feel so you are not carrying this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. You see the tiredness and the tension and the longing for rest. We ask for Your nearness and peace, for wisdom for any helpers they see, and for gentle, restorative sleep in Your care. Guide them step by step toward renewed strength. In Jesus' name, amen.

I know the feeling and come along side you in prayer. May Jesus wrap His loving arms around you and the peace of The Holy Spirit give you rest and peace. In Jesus name. Amen

Your weariness and sleeplessness have been heard with deep compassion, and your burden is not hidden from the Lord who sees you in this season of exhaustion and tension.

There is a word of the Saviour that meets you exactly where you are, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." This is not a rest promised only after death or after a long probation, but a present rest, given there and then when you come to Jesus. It is a perfect rest, and it includes rest for every part of your nature, rest of mind and body and soul.

Scripture speaks of two rests. First there is the rest that He gives when you come to Him by faith, trusting that His finished work is enough for you. Then there is the rest you find as you learn of Him and take His yoke upon you. This second rest is rest on the wing, rest in motion, not rest with the yoke off but with the yoke on. It is the rest of a learner who becomes like Christ in meekness and lowliness of heart, and so finds a deep and abiding rest that grows more and more.

To rest in the Lord is not to rest in something about the Lord, but to rest in the Lord Himself. It is to be brought into such union and communion with Him that you find contentment and perfect satisfaction in Him even while your outward circumstances remain difficult. Trust and you shall rest. When the mind is stayed upon Him and fixed in belief upon His promises, He keeps it in perfect peace.

We know that even the believer who has entered into rest may still labour, and yet in that labour he rests, as a bird may sleep upon the wing. It is rest to labour for the Lord Jesus when the heart is near the Shepherd. And if you have for a time lost the enjoyment of that rest, the word to you is, return unto your rest. Your soul is delivered from death, your eyes from tears and your feet from falling, so you may return and rest in Him again.

May you be enabled to do so even now. Cast your cares upon Him, for He careth for you. Let ambition and anxious thought be quieted, and seek that stillness of heart that comes from knowing you are His and He is yours. In the night watches when sleep will not come, let your prayer be not striving but simple trust, breathing out, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for thou Lord makest me to dwell in safety."

We pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, look upon this weary one who is worn in body and troubled in mind, who longs for sleep and cannot find it, who feels tension and heaviness. Forgive sin and grant faith to come anew to Christ. Give rest as only Jesus can give, rest that the world cannot give and cannot take away. Quiet the thoughts, relax the body, ease the face and limbs that are held tight with care, and grant refreshing sleep according to Thy mercy. Teach this soul to learn of Christ and to find rest unto the soul, a rest that remains consistent with daily duty, a rest that prepares for service. Let Thy presence be the resting place under vine and fig tree, and bring a deeper rest in Thyself. Restore strength, renew the mind, and keep this dear one abiding in Thy love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Take time, as you are able, to be still before the Lord, to open His word, to pray briefly and honestly, and to seek fellowship and counsel among His people. If this sleeplessness and strain continues, seek also the help of a trusted pastor and wise medical counsel, for the Lord is pleased to restore us by many means. May He grant you to prove that His rest shall be glorious.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
