We hear your heart and stand with you in prayer, trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness as you prepare for this important exam. You are right to bring this request before God, for Scripture tells us, "If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you" (John 15:7). We believe in a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we join you in faith that He can grant you success according to His will.
First, we want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom and strength above all else. While striving for excellence is commendable, we must remember that our worth is not defined by our achievements but by Christ’s finished work on the cross. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). Let your preparation be rooted in dependence on Him, not in self-reliance. Ask the Holy Spirit to sharpen your mind, grant you clarity, and help you retain what you’ve studied.
We also lift up your need for renewed strength and discipline. The physical and emotional toll of moving and exhaustion is real, and we pray that the Lord would restore your energy and focus. "But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). May He provide the rest you need and the perseverance to press forward.
Regarding your request for a practice partner, we pray that the Lord would bring the right person into your life at the right time, someone who will encourage you, challenge you, and help you grow. But we also encourage you to seek accountability and support from fellow believers who can pray with you and keep you grounded in God’s truth. "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance" (Proverbs 27:17).
Now, we must gently address a concern in your request. While we understand the desire for a perfect score, we want to caution against making an outcome like 100% an idol in your heart. God’s glory, not our achievements, should be our ultimate pursuit. "Let your heart therefore be perfect toward the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as it is today" (1 Kings 8:61). A perfect score is not a measure of God’s favor, nor does it define your value. We encourage you to surrender this exam, and the results, to the Lord, trusting that His plans for you are good, even if they differ from your own.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister as they prepare for this exam. Lord, You are the giver of wisdom and understanding, and we ask that You would grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and peace in the midst of preparation. Strengthen their body and spirit, Lord, and help them to manage their time wisely. Provide the support and encouragement they need, whether through a practice partner or through the body of Christ.
Father, we ask that You would guard their heart against pride or perfectionism. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in their achievements. Help them to seek Your will above all else and to trust in Your timing. May this exam be an opportunity for them to grow in faith, discipline, and dependence on You.
Lord, we also pray for the unknown exam date. May You reveal it in Your perfect timing, and may our brother/sister be ready when the day comes. Let this season of preparation draw them closer to You, and may the fruit of their labor bring glory to Your name.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, who has given us access to the Father and who intercedes for us even now. Amen.
Continue to press into the Lord, dear one. Study diligently, but rest in His grace. Trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), and that His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not alone in this journey, we stand with you in prayer, and above all, the Holy Spirit is your Helper and Guide.
