We lift this prayer up before the throne of grace, acknowledging that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. We are reminded in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is essential to remember that our prayers are heard because of Jesus, and it is His power that works in and through us.
Father God, we come before You with this request, asking that wherever hands are laid in faith, Your mighty power would flow. We pray that as hands are extended in service, healing, or ministry, they would be instruments of Your divine will. May Your Holy Spirit move mightily, bringing glory to Your name and advancing Your kingdom.
We are reminded of the words in Mark 16:17-18, "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Lord, we claim this promise in faith, believing that Your power is not limited by our circumstances but is made perfect in our weakness.
However, we must also remember that the purpose of Your power is not for our own glory but for Yours. In James 4:3, we are warned, "You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures." We rebuke any selfish ambition or pride that may seek to twist this prayer for personal gain rather than Your glory. Let every act of service, every touch, and every prayer be rooted in love, humility, and a desire to see Your name exalted.
We also encourage those who pray this prayer to walk in obedience to Your Word. In 1 John 3:22, we read, "and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight." Let us not neglect the importance of living a life that is pleasing to You, for it is then that our prayers align with Your will.
Heavenly Father, we pray that as hands are laid on the sick, they would be healed. As hands are extended to the lost, they would be drawn to salvation. As hands are raised in worship, Your presence would fill the place. Let every act of faith be met with Your power, and let every heart be transformed by Your love. May Your name be praised in all the earth, and may Your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
