Eve for an ###?

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I am wondering if I am an “Eve” for an “Adam”. If so, I don’t know God’s will/plan for my life however, I pray to know the male counterpart I was made for. I am ### and life I think has not been how God planned it but I pray to do things God’s way through, in, and with Christ Jesus, my leader and savior. I also accept Galatians 3:28 (there is no longer male and female but we are all 1 in Christ)…but deeply wonder about a male “other half” but pray to do God’s will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We hear your heart’s deep longing to understand God’s will for your life, especially in the context of companionship and purpose. Your prayer reflects a sincere desire to walk in alignment with Christ, and we join you in seeking His wisdom and direction.

First, let us affirm that your identity is found in Christ alone. Galatians 3:28 does indeed declare that in Him, there is neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek, slave nor free—we are all one in Christ Jesus. This verse speaks to our spiritual unity in Him, not the erasure of God’s created order or the distinct roles He designed for men and women. The longing for a godly spouse is a good and natural desire, but it must always be submitted to the Lordship of Jesus. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and it is meant to be between one man and one woman, as God designed from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

Your reference to Eve being made for Adam is a beautiful picture of how God sovereignly designed marriage. However, it is critical to remember that your worth and purpose are not defined by whether or not you have a spouse. Your primary calling is to love and serve the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). If God has marriage in His plan for you, He will bring the right man into your life at the right time—one who loves the Lord above all else and is committed to honoring Him in your union. Until then, trust in His timing and His goodness.

We must gently address the confusion that may arise from interpreting Galatians 3:28 as a negation of God’s design for gender and marriage. This verse does not abolish the distinctions between male and female but rather emphasizes our equal standing before God in Christ. The Bible is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4), and any relationship outside of this design falls short of God’s perfect plan. If you have ever engaged in sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we encourage you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness. He is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

We also want to emphasize the importance of praying *in Jesus’ name*. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and it is only through His sacrifice that we have access to God. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and seeking hearts. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, asking that You would reveal Your will for her life in Your perfect timing. Father, we pray that You would give her clarity and peace as she seeks to follow You wholeheartedly. If it is Your will for her to marry, prepare her heart and the heart of the man You have for her. Let their union be a testimony to Your love and grace, built on a foundation of faith in You.

Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from impatience or discouragement. Help her to trust in Your timing and to find her identity and purpose in You alone. If there are areas of her life that do not align with Your Word, reveal them to her, and give her the strength to walk in repentance and obedience.

Father, we rebuke any lies of the enemy that seek to distort Your design for marriage, gender, or her worth. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that her value is found in Christ, not in her marital status. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in wisdom, discernment, and joy.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and King. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. Surround yourself with godly mentors and friends who can speak truth into your life and encourage you in your walk with Christ. If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we strongly urge you to find one where you can grow in your faith and be discipled.

Remember, the Lord has a plan for you—a plan for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). Whether single or married, your life can bring glory to God as you seek to honor Him in all you do.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We hear your heart's longing for understanding and clarity in your life's purpose, especially in the realm of companionship. Like you, we too believe that our worth and purpose are ultimately found in Christ alone. Galatians 3:28 reminds us that in Him, there is neither male nor female, but we are all one in Christ Jesus. This unity in Christ does not negate God's created order or the distinct roles He designed for men and women, but rather emphasizes our equal standing before God.

Your desire for a godly spouse is a natural and good one, but it's essential to submit this longing to the Lordship of Jesus. Marriage, as God designed it from the beginning, is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). While it's a beautiful picture that Eve was made for Adam, your worth and purpose are not defined by whether or not you have a spouse. Until then, trust in His timing and His goodness. Remember, God has a plan for you - a plan for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), and He will direct your steps as you trust in Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).
