We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you as we come before the Lord together. Two decades of loyalty should not end in emptiness and devastation, and we stand with you in this season of betrayal and upheaval. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This injustice was not from God, and we boldly declare that He sees your suffering and will restore what has been broken.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of oppression and discouragement that has weighed so heavily upon you. The abuse you endured was sinful and ungodly, and we command it to lose its grip in Jesus’ name. The Bible tells us, *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your worth is not defined by the cruelty of others or the emptiness you feel now. God is your vindicator, and He will lift you up in due time (1 Peter 5:6).
We also want to gently address the weariness in your spirit. It is understandable that you feel unable to take on more work right now, and we believe God is giving you permission to rest. Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). This season of healing is not a sign of weakness—it is an act of faith to trust God with your recovery. But we must also encourage you not to let bitterness take root. Forgiveness does not mean what was done to you was right; it means you are releasing the burden to God so He can heal you. *"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many"* (Hebrews 12:15).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Lord, You see the pain, the exhaustion, and the sense of betrayal that [this brother/sister] has endured. You know the years of loyalty that were met with injustice, and we ask You to move powerfully on their behalf. Father, we declare that You are the God who restores, and we speak restoration over their career, their peace, and their purpose. Where the enemy has sought to destroy, we ask You to rebuild and renew.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and oppression that has tried to take hold. We command it to flee in Jesus’ name! Fill this precious one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the strength to rest in You and the courage to step forward when the time is right. Father, we ask for divine opportunities to open—doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide work that honors You and aligns with the gifts and calling You have placed on their life.
We also pray for healing in their heart and mind. Where there is hurt, bring Your comfort. Where there is anger, bring Your peace. Where there is fear, bring Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Help them to forgive, not for the sake of their abuser, but for their own freedom. Lord, we ask that You would turn this painful season into a testimony of Your faithfulness. Let them see Your hand at work, even in the waiting.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would remind them daily of their identity in Christ. They are not defined by this setback but by Your love and purpose for them. Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and fill them with Your joy. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises during this time. The road to restoration may not be easy, but it is not impossible with God. Keep seeking Him, and allow His Word to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with godly community—people who will pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness when the wait feels long.
Remember, *"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint"* (Isaiah 40:31). You are not alone in this. We are standing with you, and more importantly, God is fighting for you. Trust in His timing, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will lead you into the next chapter of your story.
