We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this request for reinstatement to employment as a Customs Officer. Father God, we know that You are the ultimate provider and that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17). We ask that You would open the doors that no man can shut and close the doors that no man can open (Revelation 3:7-8). Lord, we pray for favor in this situation, that those in authority would see the value and integrity of this individual and consider them for reinstatement.
We also recognize, Lord, that our work is not just for our own provision but is also a form of worship and service to You. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." We pray that this truth would be at the forefront of their mind, that they would seek to honor You in all they do, whether in this position or another that You have prepared.
Father, we also ask that You would provide wisdom and discernment in this process. Guide each step and decision, that it would align with Your perfect will. If there are areas that need growth or change, we pray for the humility to receive correction and the strength to make necessary adjustments. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. For You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this individual is equipped and capable, not by their own strength, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit working within them.
Lord, we also lift up any financial burdens that may be weighing heavily during this time of unemployment. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Lastly, we want to emphasize the importance of seeking You first in all things. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray that this time would be an opportunity to draw closer to You, to seek Your face, and to align their desires with Your will. In all things, we ask that Your name would be glorified, and that this individual would come to know You more deeply, for it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
