Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my family. For more than twenty years, our home has been filled with conflict and pain. My father is a very rough, angry, and arrogant person. He constantly fights with my mother over small things, hurts her emotionally, and has not been a loving husband or father for many years. Their arguments often include harsh and abusive words, raised voices, and at times it becomes physical. Because of this environment, my brother and I have grown up feeling scared, anxious, and emotionally burdened. It has been difficult for us to live a normal and peaceful life like others. My mother suffers deeply. She has high blood pressure and carries so much emotional pain, yet all she longs for is a little love and kindness from her husband. Many days she feels extremely depressed and spends hours crying. For twenty years we have been praying for my father's salvation and for his character to change. We have prayed that he would become a loving husband to my mother and a caring father to us. But as time passes and we see little change, our faith sometimes feels weak and discouraged. One reason for his behavior may be the heavy stress he carries. He works a very demanding job with low pay and is the only breadwinner in the family. The pressure and exhaustion seem to make him release all his frustration at home. Please pray that God would bless him with a better and easier job that provides good income and removes some of the stress he carries. Please pray that God softens his heart. Pray that he receives salvation, that his character changes, and that he begins to seek God sincerely. Pray that he will start praying, reading the Bible, and most importantly begin coming to church. May the way he speaks to us and treats us completely change. Please also pray for my mother’s health, that God heals her completely from high blood pressure and gives her peace, joy, and emotional strength. Pray that our home will be filled with peace instead of fear. Pray that our faith will be restored and strengthened again. We long to see God move in our family. We believe that God is the one who brought my parents together and gave us to them. If He has a plan for our family, we pray that He fulfills it and restores our home before we lose hope. Please pray that God brings peace, healing, prosperity, and happiness to our family, and that one day we will stand together as a restored family, free from the shame and pain we have carried for so long. Thank you for praying for us.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family who has endured so much pain for far too long. The Word of God tells us, "Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you" (Luke 6:28 WEB). Though your faith has been tested through years of unanswered prayers, we stand with you in believing that God hears and answers according to His perfect will and timing.

Father God, we first ask for Your divine intervention in this father's life. The Bible says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB). We pray for this man's salvation, that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin and draw him to repentance. Soften his hardened heart, Lord, and replace his anger with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask that You would provide him with a better job that eases his burdens, but more importantly, that You would show him how to cast all his anxieties on You because You care for him (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

For this suffering mother, we pray Your healing touch. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). Comfort her in her tears, strengthen her body from high blood pressure, and fill her with Your perfect peace. Help her to fix her eyes on You, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). Give her the courage to set godly boundaries while still honoring her marriage covenant.

To the children who have grown up in this environment of fear, we declare God's promise: "When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up" (Psalm 27:10 WEB). Though earthly fathers may fail, our Heavenly Father never will. We pray for emotional healing, for the restoration of innocence, and for the strength to break any generational cycles of dysfunction.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of strife that has taken root in this home. "For where envy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed" (James 3:16 WEB). We command peace to reign where there has been conflict, love where there has been hatred, and gentleness where there has been harshness. Your Word says, "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1 WEB). We pray that You would rebuild this family according to Your perfect design.

We also want to gently address the importance of forgiveness. While we acknowledge the deep pain that has been caused, Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12 WEB). This doesn't mean what happened was right, but it does mean releasing the bitterness that can poison our own hearts. We pray for the grace to forgive as Christ has forgiven us.

Most importantly, we want to affirm that true transformation can only come through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We pray that each family member would come to know Christ personally, not just as a religious concept but as a living Savior who can redeem even the most broken situations.

Heavenly Father, we believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). We ask for a miracle in this home - not just surface-level changes, but a complete transformation that can only come from You. May this family one day testify of Your faithfulness and stand together in unity, having put on the new self which has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth (Ephesians 4:24 WEB). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this deeply painful and ongoing struggle. It has been on our hearts to lift your family before the Lord day and night, asking Him to intervene in ways only He can. We have prayed specifically for your father’s heart to soften, for his salvation, and for his character to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We have asked God to remove the heavy burdens of stress and exhaustion that weigh on him and to open doors for better work—work that brings provision without crushing his spirit. We continue to pray that he would begin seeking the Lord sincerely, that he would pick up his Bible, lift his voice in prayer, and step into a church family that can surround him with truth and love.

For your mother, we have prayed fervently for healing—both physically and emotionally. We’ve asked the Lord to lower her blood pressure, calm her anxious heart, and fill her with a peace that surpasses understanding. We’ve pleaded with Him to restore her joy, strengthen her faith, and remind her daily of His unfailing love, even in the midst of such deep pain. We’ve also prayed for ### and your brother, that God would guard your hearts from fear and anxiety, renew your hope, and surround you with His presence as you navigate this difficult season.

Most of all, we have prayed for your home—for the atmosphere to shift from conflict and fear to one of peace, unity, and restoration. We believe, as you do, that God has a plan for your family, and we’ve asked Him to fulfill it in His perfect timing. We’ve prayed that your faith would not grow weary but would be strengthened as you wait on Him, trusting that He is working even when the circumstances seem unchanged.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—if there has been even the smallest shift toward healing, reconciliation, or peace—we would be so encouraged to hear about it. Your praise report could be a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and an encouragement to others who are waiting on Him. If, however, the situation remains heavy and unchanged, please know that we are still here, still standing with you in prayer. You do not have to carry this burden alone. We invite you to post this request again, and we will continue to lift your family before the throne of grace, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.

May the Lord bless you with His comfort, strengthen your faith, and draw your family closer to Himself. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
