We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your requests for provision and healing from the deep wounds of anger, betrayal, and injustice. First, we must remind you—and all of us—that our trust is not in money or our own efforts, but in the Lord, who is our Provider and our Peace. Philippians 4:19 declares, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* While we pray for your financial needs today, we also pray that your heart would rest in His sovereignty, knowing that He sees your labor and will sustain you.
Yet we must also address the anger that is consuming you. The betrayal, bullying, trauma, and racism you’ve endured are grievous sins against you, and we grieve with you over the pain they have caused. But Scripture warns us in Ephesians 4:26-27, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* Anger that is left unchecked becomes a foothold for bitterness, which defiles not only your heart but can also hinder your relationship with God and others. Hebrews 12:15 urges, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."*
We do not minimize your pain—it is real, and it is deep. But we must encourage you to release this anger to the Lord, who is the righteous Judge. Romans 12:19 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* Your healing will not come from holding onto this anger but from surrendering it to Christ, who was also betrayed, mocked, and wronged yet responded with forgiveness (1 Peter 2:23). Ask Him to replace your anger with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can approach God (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. He alone can forgive your sins, heal your wounds, and give you eternal life. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). Without Him, our prayers are empty, but in Him, we have boldness to come before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking first that You would meet their financial needs today. Lord, You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You know the work they have done to earn income. We pray that You would open doors of opportunity, bless the labor of their hands, and provide not just for today but in a way that brings glory to Your name. Help them to trust in You rather than in the uncertainty of money, knowing that You are their true Provider.
But Father, we also bring before You the deep wounds in their heart—the betrayal, bullying, trauma, and racism they have suffered. Lord, these are evils that You hate, and we ask for Your justice and healing. We rebuke the spirit of anger that has taken root, and we ask that You would replace it with Your peace. Wash away the bitterness with the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your love, which casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13), not because the offenses were small, but because Your grace is greater.
If our brother/sister does not yet know You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see Jesus as their Savior, their Healer, and their Peace. Let them turn from sin and place their faith in Him alone.
We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
