We come before You, Almighty God, with hearts heavy for our brother or sister in Christ who is crying out for deliverance from demonic strongholds. We stand on Your Word, which declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
First and foremost, we rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and bondage in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus is above every name, and at His name, every knee must bow—including the forces of darkness (Philippians 2:9-10). We declare that no weapon formed against this child of God shall prosper, for the Lord is their refuge and fortress (Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 91:2).
We pray that You would break every chain and shatter every stronghold that has taken root in their life. Your Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We claim this promise over their life today.
Father, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). Strengthen them with Your power so that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-11). Surround them with Your angels to guard and protect them, and let Your light expose and drive out every darkness.
We also encourage this dear one to draw near to You, Lord, through prayer, fasting, and the study of Your Word. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). We pray they would meditate on it day and night so that they may be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and prospering in all they do (Psalm 1:2-3).
If there are areas of sin or unrepentance in their life, we urge them to confess and turn away from them, for You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). The enemy often gains a foothold through unconfessed sin, so we pray for a heart of repentance and a desire to walk in holiness.
Lord, we also ask that You would bring godly believers into their life to stand with them in prayer and encouragement. Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Let them be surrounded by a community of faith that will uplift them and hold them accountable.
We declare that this child of God is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, victory, and freedom over them in the name of Jesus. May they experience the fullness of Your love, peace, and joy as they walk in the freedom You have purchased for them on the cross.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your power to deliver and set free. May this dear one walk in the liberty of Your Spirit, no longer bound but living as a testimony of Your grace and mercy. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
