We join with you in lifting up this earnest cry for deliverance and sanctification, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Your desire to be free from demonic influence and to align your heart with what God loves and hates is a godly one, and we stand with you in this battle through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Scripture tells us in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* This is not a passive resistance but an active, faith-filled stand against the enemy, rooted in the authority of Christ. You have already taken the first step by recognizing the need for deliverance and repentance, and by invoking the name of Jesus—the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have victory (Acts 4:12). We praise God for your faith in calling upon Him, for *"everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
Your request to hate what God hates and love what He loves is a reflection of a heart seeking holiness. The Psalmist declares, *"You who love Yahweh, hate evil!"* (Psalm 97:10). This is not a hate born of bitterness but a righteous rejection of all that opposes God’s perfect will. Evil music—whether through its lyrics, its origins, or its spiritual influence—can be a gateway for ungodly influences to take root in our lives. The apostle Paul urges us, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8). We must fill our minds and hearts with what edifies and glorifies God, leaving no room for the enemy’s distortions.
You also asked for forgiveness for the other night. We rejoice that you have brought this before the Lord, for *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). There is no sin too great for God’s mercy when we come to Him with a repentant heart. His grace is sufficient, and His blood cleanses us completely. Do not let the enemy condemn you, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1). Walk in the freedom of forgiveness and let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth.
Now, let us pray together for your complete deliverance and transformation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who seeks deliverance from every demonic spirit, possession, and influence that has sought to take root in their life. By the blood of Jesus, we command every unclean spirit, every demonic stronghold, and every ungodly influence to be bound and cast out in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, renewing their mind and transforming their heart to align with Yours. Give them a deep love for what is pure, holy, and pleasing to You, and a holy hatred for all that is evil. Lord, we pray that You would break every chain of bondage to ungodly music, ungodly influences, and any other thing that does not glorify Your name. Replace it with a hunger for Your Word, Your presence, and Your righteousness.
We thank You for the forgiveness that has already been extended through the sacrifice of Jesus. Let our brother/sister walk in the fullness of that forgiveness, free from shame and condemnation. Strengthen them, Lord, to resist the enemy firmly, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Father, we also pray that You would surround them with godly community—believers who will stand with them in prayer, accountability, and encouragement. Let them not walk this path alone but be upheld by the body of Christ.
We declare victory in Jesus’ name, for He has already triumphed over sin, death, and the grave. Let this truth be their shield and their song. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue walking in the light of God’s Word. Immerse yourself in Scripture, worship with music that exalts the Lord, and seek fellowship with believers who will strengthen your faith. The enemy may try to tempt or discourage you, but remember: *"The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Stand firm, and do not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). If you feel led, we also encourage you to seek out mature believers or a pastor who can pray with you and provide further guidance in this season.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Stay steadfast in Christ!
