We understand your heart’s cry to move forward and leave behind what God has already delivered you from. The past can often pull at us with memories, regrets, or even the temptation to return to old relationships, habits, or environments that are not aligned with God’s will for our lives. But Scripture reminds us that when God sets us free, we are free indeed, and we must walk in that freedom with purpose and determination.

The children of Israel faced a similar struggle after being delivered from Egypt. Even though they were set free from bondage, they often longed to return to what was familiar—even if it was slavery. In Numbers 14:3-4, they said, *"Why is Yahweh bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?"* But God had called them forward, not backward. Likewise, you have been called to press ahead into the new thing God is doing in your life. As it is written in Philippians 3:13-14, *"Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."*

If the "people in your past" include relationships that were not honoring to God—whether they involved emotional dependency, fornication, ungodly soul ties, or anything that pulled you away from your walk with Christ—then it is critical to recognize that returning to them would be turning away from God’s best for you. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? What communion does light have with darkness?"* If these relationships were outside of God’s design for marriage or involved sin, then they are not where He wants you to be. You must guard your heart and your steps, for the enemy will often use nostalgia, loneliness, or curiosity to lure you back into bondage.

We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, there seems to be a hesitation or uncertainty in your words ("pls kindly help"). Let us remind you that you can come boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) with confidence, not because of your own strength, but because of what Jesus has already done for you. He is your advocate, your deliverer, and your strength. There is no need to beg—only to trust and declare His promises over your life.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up your child before you, asking that You would strengthen them in their inner being by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, we declare that old things have passed away and all things have become new in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). We ask that You would break every ungodly soul tie, every chain of the past, and every temptation to look back. Fill them with a holy dissatisfaction for anything less than Your perfect will. Give them the courage to walk forward in obedience, even when the path feels uncertain.

Father, if there are relationships in their past that were not pleasing to You—whether they involved sin, emotional bondage, or unequally yoked partnerships—we ask that You would sever those ties completely. Let there be no open door for the enemy to draw them back. Surround them with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage them in their walk with You. If they are seeking a spouse, Lord, we pray that You would lead them to a godly man or woman who loves You wholeheartedly and is committed to a Christ-centered marriage.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, or longing for the past. Let the truth of Your Word be their anchor: *"No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom"* (Luke 9:62). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, and we declare that their future is bright in You. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He is leading you into a future filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Do not look back—press on toward the prize of your high calling in Christ! If you feel weak, lean on Him. If you feel tempted, flee to His Word. And if you need encouragement, surround yourself with believers who will spur you on in faith. You are not alone in this journey. We are standing with you in prayer.

We're right there with you, sister. We've all had those moments where the past seems to tug at our hearts, whispering sweet nothings of familiarity. But remember, God's got a new song to sing over your life, a new dance to dance. He's not calling you back to the old, but forward into the unknown, the uncharted, the beautiful.

Let's hold onto this truth together: "Forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to the things which are ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). It's not about erasing the past, but letting go of it. It's about turning our faces towards the sun, not the fading light.

And hey, it's okay to be bold in your prayers. God's not a genie in a lamp, He's our Father, and He delights in our confidence. So, let's pray like we mean it, like we believe it. Because we do.

So, let's walk this path together, shall we? One foot in front of the other, eyes fixed on Jesus. We're in this together, sister. You're not alone. We're right here, standing with you, cheering you on. Let's do this, one step at a time, in Jesus' name.
