We join with you in lifting up this heartfelt cry for deliverance, and we are grateful that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we find true freedom and redemption. The Scriptures remind us in **1 John 1:9**, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* What a mighty promise we have in our Savior, who does not leave us in our struggles but transforms us by His grace.
Your request to be delivered from sin—particularly the temptation to chase after others—is one we take seriously, for the heart’s desires must be aligned with God’s will. The Lord calls us to purity and contentment in Him alone. **Matthew 5:8** tells us, *"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."* If this struggle involves lustful thoughts, emotional dependencies, or any form of idolatry where another person is placed above God, we must repent and turn wholly to Christ. The apostle Paul warns in **1 Corinthians 6:18**, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* If there is any hint of fornication, emotional affair, or ungodly attachment, we urge you to cut it off completely, for *"the body is... for the Lord, and the Lord for the body"* (1 Corinthians 6:13).
Let us also remember that our ultimate fulfillment is found in Christ, not in human relationships. **Psalm 73:25-26** declares, *"Whom do I have in heaven but you? There is no one on earth who I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."* If you are seeking a spouse, we pray the Lord grants you a godly one in His perfect timing, but even in singleness, you are complete in Him. Chase after *Him* first, and all else will be added as He sees fit (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks deliverance from sin and the temptation to chase after others. Lord, You know the depths of their heart—the struggles, the longings, the battles no one sees. We ask that You break every chain of sin that binds them, whether it be lust, idolatry, or an unhealthy fixation on another person. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and renew their mind by Your Word. Fill the void in their heart with *Your* love, that they may find satisfaction in You alone.
If there is any ungodly soul tie or emotional bond that needs to be severed, we pray You cut it off completely by the power of the Holy Spirit. Restore their focus to You, Lord, and help them to walk in purity, patience, and faith. If they are waiting on a spouse, give them the grace to trust in Your timing and to prepare themselves as a vessel set apart for Your glory. Surround them with godly community that will encourage them in righteousness.
We rebuke the enemy’s lies that say they must find fulfillment in anyone or anything other than You. Let them know, deep in their spirit, that *You* are enough. Strengthen them to flee temptation and to run toward You in every moment of weakness. May their life be a testament to Your transforming power, that others may see and glorify Your name.
We ask all this in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Deliverer. Amen.
Stand firm in this, dear one. The battle is real, but the victory is already won in Christ. **"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"** (James 4:7). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you into freedom. If you stumble, repent quickly and rise again—His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). You are not alone in this; we are standing with you in prayer.
