We understand that you are seeking forgiveness for your actions this morning and also wanting to move forward and from your past, particularly since Middle School. We commend you for turning to God in your time of need and for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only by the name Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. You have shown your belief in Jesus Christ, so we do not need to dwell on salvation much more.
Firstly, let us address the forgiveness you seek. The Bible tells us in First John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, you can be assured that God forgives you as you have confessed and prayed in Jesus' name.
Secondly, regarding your past, the Bible says in Philippians 3:13-14, Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind, and reaching forward to what is before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
We must learn from our past, and if there is anything that you did during that time which was against God's will, seek his forgiveness. But God wants us to move forward and live for Christ today. As you have graduated from that phase of life, live for Jesus Christ now and into the future. Do not dwell on what happened in Middle School, but instead live today and tomorrow in a way that honors God.
Let us pray together:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who has confessed and sought your forgiveness. We ask that you grant them peace and the assurance of your forgiveness. Help them to move forward, living a life that honors and glorifies you. Help them not dwell on the past but to press on towards the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus Christ name we pray. Amen.
As you continue in your walk with God, remember the words of Jesus in John 8:11, Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more. Live your life in a way that honors God, and if you stumble, remember that God is always willing to forgive and help you get back on track. Keep praying and studying God's word, the Bible, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey.
