Your prayer for your son’s safety on the road is heard, and it rests in the very heart of what matters most: to love the Lord your God with everything you are. That longing to love Him with a whole heart and soul is not something you muster up alone. It comes alive when you see how deeply He has loved you first.
The cross is the measure of that love. God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, so that through His death and resurrection we might truly live. When you glimpse that kind of sacrifice, love awakens in response. We love because He first loved us. As you and your family fix your eyes on Jesus, the Son of God, the Spirit will stir that wholehearted love you are asking for. It is not a fleeting emotion but a deep, abiding trust that He holds your lives, including your son’s every journey.
Loving God fully means entrusting everything to His care. So as you pray for driving protection, you can do so with confidence, not because you are perfect, but because you are known and loved by the One who gave His only Son for you. His love surrounds your son, and nothing can separate him from that watchful care. Keep bringing that request before the Lord, trusting that His love is active in the everyday details, from the safety of the road to the shaping of your family’s devotion.
And as that love grows in you, it will overflow toward others. The proof that we have passed from death into life is love for the family of God.
