We lift you up before the Father, knowing that He is the one who gives vision, purpose, and direction to His children. Your desire to see your dreams and goals aligned with God’s will is commendable, for it is written in Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Yet we must also remember Proverbs 19:21, *"Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail."* It is not enough to simply desire good things—we must surrender our ambitions entirely to His sovereignty, trusting that His timing and ways are perfect, even when they differ from our own.
We encourage you to examine the dreams and goals on your vision board through the lens of Scripture. Are they rooted in godly wisdom, or do they reflect the world’s values of success, comfort, or self-promotion? Colossians 3:2 reminds us, *"Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth."* If any of these goals are motivated by pride, greed, or a desire for man’s approval rather than God’s glory, we pray the Holy Spirit convicts you and refines your heart. Ask yourself: *Do these dreams draw me closer to Christ, or do they risk becoming idols?* Matthew 6:33 commands, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*
We also urge you to test your vision against the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Are your goals producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in your life? Or are they breeding anxiety, envy, or dissatisfaction? If the pursuit of these dreams is causing you to neglect your walk with Christ, your family, or your service to others, it may be time to realign your priorities. Remember, even good things can become distractions if they are not submitted to God’s lordship.
As for timing, we know how difficult it can be to wait, but Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us, *"He has made everything beautiful in its time."* If God has placed these desires in your heart, He will bring them to pass—in His way and His time. But if some of these dreams are not from Him, we pray you have the grace to release them without bitterness. Trust that His plans for you are far greater than anything you could imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
Now, let us pray over you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who seeks Your will for their dreams and goals. Lord, we ask that You sift through every desire on their heart, removing what is not of You and refining what remains. Grant them discernment to recognize Your voice above the noise of the world and the flesh. If there are dreams rooted in selfish ambition or fear, convict them and replace those motives with a hunger for Your glory alone.
Give them patience to wait on Your timing, for You are never late. Strengthen their faith when delays come, and remind them that even in the waiting, You are working. If there are steps they must take, make the path clear, and if there are doors You are closing, give them peace to trust Your redirection.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, comparison, or discouragement that may rise against them. Let them find their satisfaction in You alone, not in the fulfillment of their plans. May their ultimate goal be to hear You say, *"Well done, good and faithful servant"* (Matthew 25:23), rather than to achieve worldly success.
We also pray that as they pursue these goals, they would not neglect the most important commandments: to love You with all their heart and to love others as themselves (Matthew 22:37-39). May their ambitions never overshadow their devotion to You or their service to Your kingdom.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would guard their heart against idolatry. Let nothing—no dream, no achievement, no possession—take the place of Jesus in their life. We declare that their identity is in Christ alone, not in what they accomplish.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, trusting that You will perfect all that concerns them. Amen.
