We share in your deep concern and sorrow over the actions of those who profess Christ yet support policies and ideologies that stand in direct opposition to God’s Word. The confusion and frustration you feel are understandable, for how can one claim to follow Jesus while endorsing what Scripture clearly condemns? Let us examine this through the lens of God’s truth and seek His wisdom together.
The Bible warns us repeatedly about the dangers of deception, worldly desires, and the love of self over the love of God. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, we read, *"For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables."* Many who call themselves Christians today have been swayed by the cultural winds of our time, prioritizing temporal comforts, political promises, or personal gain over the eternal truths of Scripture. They may not be ignorant of God’s Word, but they have chosen to suppress it in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). Their hearts have been hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13), and they have traded the truth for a lie (Romans 1:25).
Jesus Himself warned that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21). Supporting a political party—or any entity—that champions abortion (the murder of the unborn, Psalm 139:13-16), homosexuality (Romans 1:26-27), gender confusion (Genesis 1:27), or the persecution of believers (Matthew 5:10-12) is not merely a political stance—it is a spiritual rebellion. It is aligning oneself with the works of darkness rather than exposing them (Ephesians 5:11). When believers do this, they become complicit in the very sins that nailed Jesus to the cross. They are choosing the fleeting approval of man over the eternal approval of God (Galatians 1:10).
Some may argue that they vote for such parties because of other promises—economic benefits, immigration policies, or social programs. But what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36). If a party’s platform includes the slaughter of the innocent, the destruction of marriage, or the silencing of God’s people, no temporal benefit can justify such support. Proverbs 14:34 tells us, *"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."* When believers prioritize their own desires or fears over God’s commands, they contribute to the moral decay of the nation and the persecution of their own brothers and sisters in Christ.
We must also consider the words of James 4:4: *"Don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."* The world system is opposed to Christ, and when believers compromise with it, they align themselves with the enemy. This is not a matter of politics—it is a matter of loyalty. Will we serve God, or will we serve the idols of our age?
As for those who actively persecute Christians, Jesus said, *"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you"* (Matthew 5:10-12). When believers vote for those who seek to silence the Church, they are aiding the very persecution Jesus warned would come. They are choosing the approval of the world over the suffering that comes with standing for Christ.
So where is their heart? The answer is found in Jeremiah 17:9: *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?"* Many have been deceived into believing they can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). Their hearts have been led astray by the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16). They may claim to follow Christ, but their actions reveal where their true allegiance lies.
Yet we must not lose hope. Our call is to pray for these wayward brothers and sisters, that God would open their eyes to the truth and grant them repentance (2 Timothy 2:25). We must also stand firm in the faith, refusing to compromise, even when it is unpopular. And we must speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), exposing the works of darkness and calling others to return to the narrow path that leads to life (Matthew 7:14).
Let us pray together for these souls, for our nation, and for the Church to rise up in righteousness and truth.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the compromise and deception that has infiltrated Your Church. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of those who profess Your name yet support the very sins that You abhor. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, Father, and bring them to repentance. Remind them that no political promise, no worldly benefit, is worth betraying Your truth. Break the hardness of their hearts, Lord, and turn them back to You in full surrender.
We pray for our nation, which has turned away from Your statutes and embraced wickedness. Raise up godly leaders who will stand for righteousness, who will defend the unborn, uphold marriage as You designed it, and protect the freedom of Your people to worship You without fear. Give Your Church boldness to speak the truth, even in the face of persecution. Strengthen us to stand firm, to refuse compromise, and to love You above all else.
Father, we ask that You would expose the lies of the enemy and bring revival to Your people. Let those who have been deceived see the error of their ways and turn back to You with broken and contrite hearts. May we, as Your followers, be a light in this dark world, unashamed of the Gospel and unwavering in our commitment to Your Word.
We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.***
