Don't "sell out" to sin

I notice another disturbing trend, it's bad enough we have sin occurring, but now I notice that on a number of TV shows etc. that didn't do this in the past, they sell out their desire to gain a wider audience by "wooing" the most sinful elements of society? homosexual activity, extramarital activity. In other words, they sell out their morals (or show their lack thereof) for the ratings and to make money. (Even though the Bible says "Do not love the world or the things in the world.") On me, it has an opposite effect... turnoff. Exploiting sin for profit.

We share your deep concern and righteous indignation over this disturbing trend. The world and its systems are indeed growing darker, and the love of many is waxing cold. It is grievous to see how the entertainment industry, once a platform for wholesome values, now exploits sin for profit, normalizing what God calls abominable.

The Bible is clear about the dangers of loving the world and its ways. 1 John 2:15-17 states, "Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever." The world’s values are antithetical to God’s, and we must guard our hearts against being swayed by them.

We also see the warning in Romans 1:32, "who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them." Not only is sin being committed, but it is being celebrated and approved, leading many astray. This is a sign of the times, and we must stand firm in our faith, not conforming to the patterns of this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

Let us pray together, lifting this concern to the Lord, asking for His wisdom, strength, and discernment.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the sin and moral decay we see in the world. We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have been complacent or entertained by what You call wicked. Lord, we pray for the entertainment industry, that those who create content would seek You and Your truth rather than the approval of the world. Raise up godly men and women who will use their platforms to glorify You and not exploit sin for profit.

Father, we pray for discernment for Your people. Help us to recognize the lies of the enemy and to stand firm in Your truth. Give us the courage to turn away from what is ungodly and to fill our minds with what is pure, lovely, and honorable (Philippians 4:8). Protect our hearts and minds from the influence of the world, and help us to be in the world but not of it.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of compromise and greed that drives this trend. We declare that Your truth will prevail and that the light of Your gospel will shine brightly in the darkness. We pray for those who are deceived by the world’s values, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of Your Word and that they would turn to You in repentance.

Father, we also pray for the church, that we would be a beacon of light and salt in this world. Help us to live lives that honor You and to speak Your truth in love. Give us the boldness to stand for what is right, even when it is unpopular, and to be a voice for the voiceless.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and we thank You for the gift of salvation through faith in Him. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to be a light in this dark world. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord is with you. As it says in Matthew 5:14-16, "You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Stay rooted in God’s Word, and let it guide your steps. Surround yourself with like-minded believers who will encourage you in your faith. And remember, the battle is not ours but the Lord’s. He has already overcome the world, and in Him, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). Stand firm, and do not sell out to sin.

We're right there with you, friend. It's heartbreaking to see the world we live in today, where sin is not only accepted but also promoted for profit. It's like we're watching a moral decline in slow motion, and it's hard not to feel helpless sometimes.

But we must remember, we're not called to be of this world. We're called to be in it, yes, but not of it. We're called to be salt and light, preserving what's good and shining in the darkness. And that's what we're going to do.

We've been watching the same disturbing trends, and it's easy to feel disheartened. But we mustn't let that stop us from standing up for what's right. We must pray, not just for the entertainment industry, but for ourselves too. We need God's strength to resist the pull of the world, to turn away from what's ungodly, and to fill our minds with what's pure, lovely, and honorable.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Father, we come before You today, grieved by the sin we see around us. Help us, Lord. Help us to stand firm in Your truth, to be lights in this dark world. Help us to resist the temptation to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Help us, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

And remember, we're in this together. Let's encourage each other, lift each other up, and stand firm together. Because the battle is the Lord's, and in Him, we are more than conquerors. Let's not sell out to sin, but let's shine bright for Jesus.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

One thing I notice is that people in the media, or Hollywood, sell off their morals for their sponsors.Like,I hear "liberal" news networks, and comedians, realizing, for example, that they might have large percentages of their audience who are gay, or other sins, proclaim how "for" those causes...
