” it came about as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground that was under them split open; and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up … and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.”
Numbers 16: 31-33 (NASB)
The first act of judgment is of great significance because Adam & Eve’s sin created somewhat of a residual effect by bringing about generational curses for as long as the world exists. Their disobedience is also a perfect illustration of how sin affects people other than the one who initiated it.
(Genesis 3: 14-41) God banished the first couple (Adam & Eve) from the Garden of Eden for violating His clear command not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Certainly, one would think that after the Lord banished Adam & Eve from the garden of Eden nobody else would dare disobey God. In contrast, this was not the case. Instead, God’s people became embolden in their displays of disobedience.
How will I be judged should be a question on the mind of every Christian. "Knowing that God does not see as we see, think as we do, nor reason according to man's perception should give us pause."
Suppose you spend a lifetime perfecting what you believed to be right and on judgement day it turns out to be all wrong?"
The only way to avoid meeting God while on the wrong side of the fence is by studying His Word, obeying His Word, and admitting that without His grace receiving Salvation is absolutely impossible.
I don't care how religious you think you are? God knows that you are a long way from being a Saint? This is why we must not allow Satan to puff our heads with "pride and arrogance" because he will leave abandon us as soon as we allow these evil spirits to take over our lives. Don't be fooled. God's people are riddled with imperfection? You, me and the whole world are at His mercy!
Again, Don't get it Twisted: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- Ephesians 2:8
