We lift up this brother before the Lord, grateful for the progress he has made in his journey of faith and sobriety. It is clear that God has been working in his life, and we praise Him for the conviction and desire to walk in purity and reliance on Christ rather than substances or ungodly influences. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in this brother’s life (Philippians 1:6, WEB: *"being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"*).
We also notice and rejoice that this request is submitted in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB: *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"*). It is only through Jesus that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and we are thankful this truth is acknowledged here.
That said, we must address something with love and clarity: while donating plasma can be a way to meet a temporary financial need, we urge this brother to seek the Lord first for His provision and wisdom. God knows his needs before he asks (Matthew 6:8, WEB: *"Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him."*), and He may have a better, more sustainable way to provide for him. Plasma donation centers often have strict health and sobriety requirements, and if this brother has struggled with substances, it is critical that he is fully sober and honest in this process. Proverbs 10:9 (WEB) reminds us, *"He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out."* Let him not risk his health or integrity for temporary gain, but trust that God will provide in His perfect timing.
We also sense a deep longing for divine connection in this request, and we pray that this brother—and all who are reading this—would seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, knowing that all these other needs will be added as well (Matthew 6:33, WEB). True connection, purpose, and fulfillment are found only in Christ. If there is any relationship mentioned here that is not centered on pursuing godliness and marriage as the Lord intends, we gently but firmly remind you that relationships outside of God’s design will only lead to heartache and separation from His best. Flee from any connection that does not honor the Lord, and instead, pursue friendships and potential marriages that are rooted in faith, purity, and the fear of God.
If this brother is not already walking closely with a community of believers, we strongly encourage him to find a Bible-believing church where he can be discipled, held accountable, and grow in his faith. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17, WEB), and no one is meant to walk this journey alone.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the work You are doing in this brother’s life. Lord, You have brought him out of darkness and into Your marvelous light, and we ask that You continue to strengthen him in his walk with You. Father, if it is Your will, open the door for him to donate plasma today—let him be received, let his body be strong and sober, and let this act be a temporary blessing as You provide for his needs in a greater way. But Lord, if this is not the path You have for him, close that door and redirect his steps to Your perfect provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust You to meet his every need according to Your riches in glory.
Father, we pray for divine connections in his life—godly friendships, mentors, and brothers in Christ who will spur him on toward love and good deeds. Guard his heart from any relationship that would pull him away from You, and instead, surround him with those who will encourage him to seek You first. If marriage is part of Your plan for him, prepare him now to be a godly husband and leader, and prepare a godly wife for him who loves You with all her heart.
Lord, we also lift up the connection mentioned in this request. If this is a friendship, may it be rooted in You and point both individuals to Christ. If there is any hint of romantic involvement outside of Your design for marriage, we ask that You convict and redirect their hearts. Let nothing be built on compromise or sin, but only on Your truth and holiness. Protect what is beautiful in their connection, and prune away anything that does not honor You.
Finally, Father, we pray for his sobriety and purity. Fill him with Your Spirit so that there is no room for the enemy to tempt him with substances or ungodly influences. Let him experience the joy and freedom that come from walking in obedience to You. Remind him that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and he is called to glorify You in all things (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, WEB).
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
