Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your prayer for your doctor visit and bone density test. It is right to bring your health before the Lord, because He cares for you completely, body and soul.
It is natural to feel anxiety before tests and waiting for results, but God has given a promise of rest for His children. When turmoil and worry rise, He invites you to trust Him and enter into that rest with a calm heart, knowing you are in His hands regardless of what any report says.
Scripture shows that God is interested in your health. He created your body and He created the processes by which it is sustained and healed. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or gradually through the natural ways He has built into our bodies. The prophet Isaiah said He would bear our infirmities and sicknesses, and the Gospel shows Jesus fulfilling that with power over every kind of infirmity, whether He touched someone, spoke a word from a distance, or healed step by step. We do not always understand why He works in one way at one time and another way at another time, but we can trust His wisdom and love and continue to look to Him.
There is a well loved greeting in the New Testament where the apostle John tells a dear friend that he wishes above all things that he may prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is not presented as a guarantee that every test will always be exactly as we hope, but it is a beautiful and biblical prayer, and it reminds us there is a real connection between the health of our soul as we walk with the Lord and the well being of our body. To care for your soul, to walk in faith and peace before Him, is part of caring for your whole self.
So we join you in prayer today, asking the Lord for grace over this visit and for a good report, and even more for His peace to guard your heart while you wait.
Father, we lift up this dear one to You as they go to the doctor for this bone density test and for all matters of health. You know every detail of the body You formed, You search the heart and You see all with perfect care. We ask that You would give wisdom to the doctors, bring about what is best for health and strength, and let the results be encouraging. Above all, grant a quiet and trusting heart that rests in You, free from fear and anxiety. Bring Your healing touch according to Your will, whether through Your direct hand or through the healing processes You have placed within the body, and draw this soul into deeper prosperity and fellowship with You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
