'Do It!' - Matthew 7:24-27

[Jesus concluded his Sermon on the Mount:] "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash."

Matthew 7:24-27 NLT

Key Thought

While Nike® may have the trademark on the phrase "Just Do It!"™ Jesus certainly said it enough to claim original authorship of the concept. He is was adamant: The primary purpose of his teaching is not for philosophical enlightenment, or for intellectual musings, or even just for Bible class discussions. The primary goal of his teaching is to help people understand what the will of God is and then do it.

Today's Prayer

Father, help me today put into my regular daily routine one aspect of Christian growth that was not there yesterday. I want to do your will and honor you for the great love you have for me and for all that you have already done for me. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
