We are truly saddened to hear about the trials you are facing, including divorce, health issues, and unemployment, all while dealing with abuse and a hostile environment. Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come to God in prayer asking for His help. It is also only by His name that we can be saved. We do not find anywhere in the Bible where we are to pray to Mary, an angel, or a non-living saint. These are all dead and cannot hear your prayers. God cannot be mocked. Therefore, we will begin praying in accordance with God's will as revealed in the Bible.
Let's address the issues one by one. Divorce is a serious matter in the eyes of God. In Malachi 2:16 WEB, God says, "I hate divorce." This is a grave sin before the Lord and should only be considered in cases of unrepentant adultery, but even then it is still hated. We cannot stress this enough, and we do not want to give a quick easy answer that will only lead you into further sin by a bad second marriage. Christians are commanded to be reconciled to God and each other. God's will is for both spouses to repent and be reconciled one to another and to God. Let's pray for a heart change for both you and your spouse.
Concerning the divorce, God commands in 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 WEB, "But to the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband, but and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband and let not her husband put away his wife."
As for the violence and abuse, this is clearly against God's will. In Ephesians 5:28-29 WEB, we read, "So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church." We strongly rebuke any form of abuse; it is selfish control and evil. We pray for your protection and for the abuser to truly repent before God. Any person who loves God will keep His commandments.
Regarding the breast cancer and unemployment, we want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. He is faithful and will not leave you in hard times. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through.
Regarding your neighbors, we are reminded of Mark 12:31 WEB, "The second is this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Try to live in peace with your neighbors, showing them the love of Christ, that they might repent of their evil deeds and be reconciled to God. We pray for your neighbors and the resentful things you mentioned. We pray that they might be convicted of their actions and come to know Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister/brother who is going through immense trials. Lord, we pray for Your intervention in her/his marriage, that You would soften hearts and bring about reconciliation. We rebuke the spirit of divorce and pray for a miracle of restoration.
We also pray for protection and deliverance from the abuse and violence. Father, we ask that You would surround her/him with Your angels and keep her/him safe from all harm. Bring conviction to the abuser that they might repent and be saved.
Lord, we also lift up the health concerns and unemployment. We pray for healing, provision, and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness.
We also pray for the neighbors, that You would soften their hearts and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spirits of sabotage, mockery, and false agendas, and pray for unity and love among the community.
In all things, Lord, we pray that Your will be done and that You would be glorified.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the author and finisher of your faith. Trust in Him, pray, and while you are forgiving, keep asking God for help in this time of need. Stay in prayer and the Word, the Bible.
