Proverbs 29:18


Please pray in Jesus name that the former landlord submits to God and accepts divine guidance. He and the people around him have been really wild and disrespectful, and they have caused a lot of trouble.

We join with you in bringing this situation before the Lord and we agree that divine guidance is essential, for as it is written Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. Proverbs 29:18 We see how true this is, when people refuse to submit to God and to His Word they indeed run wild and bring trouble and disrespect to those around them, and we grieve with you over the trouble this former landlord and those around him have caused.

We rebuke that spirit of wildness and lawlessness and disrespect, for it does not honor God and it harms neighbors. The Lord calls us to live in a way that honors authority and honors one another, and to turn from strife. We pray that conviction will come upon him and that he will turn from such ways.

We lift this man up together before the Father in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 We pray that he will humble himself and submit to God, that he will accept divine guidance and obey the law of the Lord. We ask that the Lord will instruct him and teach him in the way he should go and counsel him with His loving eye upon him. Psalm 32:8 We pray that he will trust in the Lord with all his heart and not lean on his own understanding, and in all his ways acknowledge Him so that God will direct his paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 We pray that his heart would be softened to the truth, that he would repent and seek joyful obedience rather than rebellion.

We also pray for you, that the Lord will guard your heart with peace and protect you from further trouble. We encourage you to continue to seek divine guidance for yourself and to walk in the joy that comes from obedience. We remember the words But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 And also If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 We encourage you not to repay evil for evil but to leave room for God to work and to bring justice in His perfect way, for vengeance belongs to the Lord. Romans 12:19

We ask the Father to bring conviction where there has been wrongdoing, to bring order where there has been wildness, and to bring restoration and respect where there has been trouble. We pray that this landlord and those around him would come to know the joy of keeping God's law and walking in His light. We thank God that He hears our prayers when we ask in the name of Jesus, and we trust Him to guide and keep you as you continue to obey Him.

We pray all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for bringing this burden to us. Living with disrespect and ongoing trouble from a former landlord and those around him can leave you feeling on edge even after you have moved on. We are praying with you for both peace in your own life and for God to work in his heart.

We understand your desire is not just for the trouble to stop but for him to truly turn toward God and receive guidance. That is a good and loving prayer. While we cannot control how another person responds, we can keep our own hearts steady before the Lord and ask Him to lead us in how we respond, with wisdom and calm boundaries.

One small step that often helps in situations like this is to decide ahead of time how you will handle any further contact, keeping interactions brief and documented, and if needed involving a neutral third party or local mediation resource so you are not carrying the conflict alone. It can also help to share what has happened with a trusted pastor or wise friend who can pray with you and help you think through next decisions.

Father, we lift this former landlord to You and ask that You draw him to Yourself and guide him toward what is right. We ask for Your protection and quiet over our friend who has been hurt by this, for wisdom in each interaction, and for Your joy to return to their daily life as they trust You. Your request concerning divine guidance has been laid before the Lord with earnest prayer. The word you have quoted is true and solemn, when people do not accept divine guidance they run wild, but whoever obeys the law is joyful. Where the restraining grace of God is refused, disorder and disrespect will surely follow, and trouble abounds. Where His guidance is welcomed, there is order, peace and joy.

We are reminded that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord and that we are only tenants. Even a man who is called landlord on earth is himself a tenant under the great Landlord of heaven and earth. His lease is short, and the great Landlord has at all times the right to enter and survey His own property. The rent required is not silver or gold, but a heart that honors Him, a life set in order before Him. We join you in praying that this former landlord may come to see his true standing, that all he holds he holds on sufferance from God, and that he may offer the key of his house to the Lord and acknowledge His rightful ownership. May he set his house in order by submitting himself to divine guidance and turning from wild and disrespectful ways.

There is forgiveness with God, and this is our hope for him and for all who have offended. The Lord Himself says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that it is repeated lest any should doubt it, and it is a complete forgiveness, as though the debt had never been. It cannot be found elsewhere, for there is forgiveness with God alone, and that forgiveness is only to be obtained through Jesus Christ His Son, who died the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God. Salvation is through Christ alone, and when a penitent heart desires forgiveness and looks to Him, there is full and eternal forgiveness to be had at once. We pray that your former landlord may be brought to tremble for his sin, to seek that forgiveness, and to find it freely bestowed, that his heart may be changed and his ways made gentle and respectful.

Let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ. O gracious Father, great Landlord of all, we ask that Thou wouldst visit this man of whom we speak, and those around him, with Thy convicting and converting grace. Bring him to submit himself to Thee and to accept Thy divine guidance. Restrain his wildness, turn him from disrespect, and make him obedient to Thy law that he may know the joy of walking in Thy ways. Grant him repentance and faith in Thy Son, and bestow upon him that complete forgiveness which Thou givest to all who trust in Christ. Let Thy peace rule where trouble has reigned. And grant to the one who has been troubled by these things a spirit of forgiveness, even as Christ forgave, that bitterness may not take root, but love and patience may prevail. Hear us for Jesus sake, in whose name we ask. Amen.

Continue to walk in the joy of obedience, looking to the Lord for guidance day by day, and resting in the assurance that there is forgiveness with Him, full and free for all who come to Him through Christ.
