Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

The Old Man Crucified
The believer must put sin to death through union with Christ’s crucifixion.
We join you in this prayer and we praise God for the heart of grace and truth you have shown in the midst of hardship. It is a beautiful reflection of Christ to pray for those who have wronged you, including this former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives, asking not for vengeance but for their repentance and restoration to honesty. This is exactly what our Lord calls us to do when He says to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you, Luke 6:27-28.

We agree with you that lies are serious before God. Scripture is very clear about this. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight, Proverbs 12:22. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and He also taught you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. To lie is to follow the father of lies, for the devil is a liar and the father of lies, John 8:44, and we are commanded therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, Ephesians 4:25, and do not lie to one another, Colossians 3:9. A false witness will not go unpunished. He who pours out lies will not go free, Proverbs 19:5. This is why your prayer for them to have their resistance to dishonesty built up again is so needed and so loving, that they might be spared the consequences of lying and come to repentance.

We also thank God that you have come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to the Father, and your prayer acknowledges the sacrifice of the cross where Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners. We continue to surrender our will to Him with you.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence, for fighting for us, and for the heavenly gifts You pour out even in trials. Thank You for the cross and the blood of Jesus shed for sinners like us. Lord, You see the dishonesty and the serious wrongs that have been committed by this former landlord's team and their legal representatives. You see every lie and You are a God of perfect truth and perfect justice. We ask first for Your mercy upon them, that You would open their eyes to the truth that sets free, convict them by Your Holy Spirit, and build in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Help them to turn from falsehood, to practice honesty, to repent and to seek forgiveness from You and from those they have harmed. We pray that they would come to know Jesus who is the Truth.

Father, we also ask for Your protection and provision for those who have been harmed, that You would vindicate the truth in Your perfect timing and way. Help us not to repay evil for evil, but to overcome evil with good, remembering that vengeance belongs to You, You will repay, Romans 12:19. Give us continued grace to show the same patience and kindness that You have shown us, to walk in integrity, and to trust You as our defender and judge. Strengthen us to dedicate our lives fully to You and to surrender our will to Yours each day. Let truth prevail and let Your name be glorified in this situation. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer. You have walked through real hardship with this former landlord, their lawyers and representatives, and yet your first concern is that truth would prevail and that they would grow in honesty. Choosing patience and kindness in that kind of strain is not small, and we join you in thanking God for the grace He has shown you in it.

What you named about resistance to dishonesty is wise. Honesty is not only a single decision in a hard moment, it is a habit that has to be built and strengthened over time. In the same way, when we have been wronged, the decision to release revenge and to pray good for the other person can come before the feelings fully catch up. It is normal if hurt or frustration still rises at times even while you are sincerely wanting God's best for them. Both the decision and the slower healing matter, and God is patient with us in both.

As you continue to walk this out, it may help to keep bringing the facts quietly before the Lord in prayer while also keeping a clear, calm record of what has happened and seeking steady, trustworthy counsel for any legal steps ahead. That can keep the burden from resting only on you and give you space to rest in what God is doing.

Father, we lift this situation to You. We ask You to guard this dear one in truth and peace, to give wisdom for each next step, and to work in the hearts of the former landlord and all involved so that honesty is valued and practiced. Shape us all to love what is true and to walk in it. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is right and good before the Lord, for you have come in the name of Jesus who said I am the way, the truth and the life, and you have asked for that which God loves, that truth should reign in the hearts of men.

We join you in giving thanks for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the heavenly gifts which come through the blood of the cross shed for sinners. It is grace alone that enables a tried soul to show patience and kindness when wronged, and we praise God that He has given you that grace toward the former landlord and his team, his lawyers and representatives. This is to overcome evil with good, and blessed is the soul that learns that art.

Lies are indeed serious before the holy God, for He is a God of truth and His Word is truth. You do well to pray that those who have yielded to dishonesty may be recovered. As you have said, to persist in lying a man must break down all resistance to dishonesty within his conscience. Let us pray that the Lord in mercy will build up that resistance again, that He will write His truth upon their hearts, and cause them to buy the truth and sell it not. Buy the truth of doctrine, buy the truth in the heart, buy the truth in the life, and let Christ who is the Truth be treasured above all gain. For only the truth as it is in Jesus can set the soul free, as you have rightly asked, that they may be set free from the bondage and consequence of falsehood.

We pray that the Lord will open their eyes to see that a liberal spirit with the truth, to call a lie truth and truth a lie, eats out the soul of true piety, and that He will show them His marvelous loving kindness in bringing them to repentance and to honest dealing. And for yourselves, we pray you may be kept in that living, loving, lasting union with Christ, where His love to you and your love to Him flow in one stream, and where you love the truth as Christ loves the truth. Draw much comfort from this, that Christ will not lose His members, and that He who is Truth Himself will keep you in truth.

May the Lord strengthen your faith to trust Him when you are wronged, taking from you all fear of man, and teaching you still to worship the Father in spirit and in truth and to live upon Christ. We surrender with you your lives and will to Him who does all things well.

In the name of Jesus, who is our truth and our life, Amen.
