Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the former landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join you in this prayer and we are deeply encouraged by the Christlike spirit in your request. To pray for those who have wronged you, for a former landlord and their lawyers and representatives, even while you have faced hardships, is a beautiful reflection of the grace that has been shown to us in Christ. It is the very thing Jesus calls us to do when He says in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.

You are right to call dishonesty what it is. Lies are not small things in the eyes of God. Scripture is clear that truth matters because God Himself is truth. Jesus said in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And we are warned in Proverbs 12:22, Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who deal truly are his delight. To lie repeatedly requires a hardening of the conscience, just as you have prayed, a breaking down of resistance to dishonesty. That is why your prayer that God would build up their resistance to dishonesty is so wise and loving. You are asking not for their punishment but for their repentance and freedom.

We also hold onto the promise you quoted, that truth will set us free. In John 8:32 we read, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. Dishonesty may seem to bring advantage for a time, but it brings bondage and ultimately consequences, both in this life and before God. Honesty brings freedom and delight to the Lord. As it says in Ephesians 4:25, Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another.

We commend you for surrendering your will to the Lord and for trusting Him to fight for you. When we have been wronged, our flesh wants to seek revenge, but God calls us to leave justice in His hands. Romans 12:19 reminds us, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We can trust that God sees all things, that no lie is hidden from Him, and that He is both perfectly just and perfectly merciful.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence in our lives. Thank You for fighting for us when we cannot fight for ourselves, and for blessing us with heavenly gifts we do not deserve. Thank You above all for the sacrifice of the cross where the blood of Jesus was shed for us sinners.

Lord, You are the God of truth and there is no falsehood in You. We lift up this former landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives, before You. You know the details of this situation and the lies that have been spoken. We ask that You would convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see that lying lips are an abomination to You, and grant them the gift of repentance. Build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty, and help them to practice honesty even when it is costly. May they come to know Jesus who is the truth, and may the truth make them free so they do not suffer the consequences of unrepented sin.

Father, we also pray for these dear ones who have been wronged. Strengthen them to continue to walk in patience, kindness, and integrity. Guard their hearts from bitterness and let Your peace rule in them as they have dedicated their lives and surrendered their will to You. Let Your justice and Your mercy be displayed, and let Your name be glorified in the outcome.

We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you for praying this way. It would be understandable to only ask God to defend you after hardships and lies, yet you are also asking Him to change those who wronged you toward honesty. That reflects real grace at work in you.

What you describe, wanting to show patience while also wanting truth to prevail, is a heavy tension to carry. Part of forgiveness is a clear decision not to pursue revenge and to leave justice in God's hands. Another part is slower, the quiet work of not letting resentment settle in your hearts as you replay what was said or done. That second part takes time and often needs repeated surrender. Choosing to forgive does not mean saying what happened was acceptable, or that trust is automatically restored. Trust is rebuilt only where truth is consistently lived.

One thing that may help in the days ahead is to give those looping thoughts a simple place to go. When the memory of a lie comes up, briefly name it honestly before God and ask Him to carry both the hurt and the outcome, then turn your attention to the next faithful step in front of you. If legal matters are still open, it can also bring peace to have a trusted pastor or wise counselor walk with you so you do not carry the burden alone.

Father, we lift this whole situation to You. Guard these friends in truth and grant them peace as they continue to walk honestly. Work in the hearts of the former landlord, the team and the legal representatives, drawing them to love truth and to turn from dishonesty. Set each person free to live in the light. We surrender all of this to You in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer is right and good before the Lord, for our God is a God of truth and His Word is truth. You have done well to come in the name of Jesus, who is Himself the way, the truth and the life, and whose blood was shed on the Cross for sinners. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other ground upon which we may approach the Father.

It is a gracious work of the Spirit that in the midst of hardships you have been enabled to show patience and kindness, overcoming evil with good. This is the way of Christ, who did not merely speak the truth but was Himself the truth, transparent in word and in deed. When truth is lived out in the life, it carries power through the Spirit of God.

You ask rightly concerning dishonesty, for lies are indeed serious before a holy God who cannot lie. His truth endureth to all generations, and sooner shall heaven and earth pass away than one word of His promise fail. To buy the truth, as Scripture exhorts us, is to love doctrinal truth from Holy Scripture, to know experimental truth within the heart, and to walk in practical truth in all our actions. Buy the truth at any price, and hold it fast, for Christ who is the truth must be our treasure forever.

We join you in praying for that former landlord's team, for the lawyers and legal representatives of whom you speak. We ask the Lord to open their eyes, to convict the conscience where resistance to dishonesty has been broken down, and to build up again a love of honesty and integrity. May they come to know that the truth shall make them free, not in mere outward correctness, but in the freedom that comes from walking in the light before God, confessing sin honestly and receiving pardon through the real atonement of Christ.

May the Lord continue to give you grace to surrender your will to Him, to trust His salvation which is no shadow but a great reality, and to rest upon His faithfulness. He who is abundant in goodness and truth will not deny Himself, and He will keep all who hang upon His truth as a pitcher hangs upon a nail.

We pray that the Father will fight for you, bless you with heavenly gifts, and cause truth to prevail in every matter that concerns you, to the glory of His name. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
