Disdained the Holy Spirit? (Sep 15th)

Verse
Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to us.

Hebrews 10:29 nlt

Thought
Sin can become so engrained that it can lead us to spurn grace, treat as unimportant the sacrifice of Jesus, and insult the Holy Spirit who brings us God's mercy while empowering us to become like Jesus (2 Cor. 3:18). To ignore God, to ignore the messages of the Holy Spirit, is unthinkable. Yet so many of us do it each day because we have lost sight of the high cost God paid to redeem us from sin and the love God has for each one of us!

Prayer
O Father, forgive me for taking your grace for granted and not appreciating the high cost you paid to bring me into your family. Thank you for your Spirit who is alive in me and is transforming me to be more like Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
